I’ve really gotten into doing my nails a lot this summer. It’s a bit of a weekly ritual for me now. I’ve already given you a glimpse into my nail care box, discussed some diy mani/pedi tips, and last week shared how I’m madly in love with a new product by Sally Hansen called Salon Effects.
Today while doing my nails I decided to try doing a french manicure look using the Sally Hansen Salon Effects. A lot easier than doing a classic french manicure technique, I think I’m in love.
- Here are the steps I took to get the look above:
- Remove old polish
- Paint nails first with a light pink (nail color), transparent shade
- Once dried, apply the Salon Effects. To do this I took a strip that was the same width as my nail and cut it into strips using nail scissors. Before cutting it was easiest to peel the top protective sheet off of the nail strip leaving the paper backing in tact until ready to apply. Once I have a sliver of Salon Effects cut to the right length of the tip of my nail, I peeled off the paper backing and applied the Salon Effects real nail polish strip to the end of my nail. Buffing off any excess with a nail file (emery board).
- The final step was to seal it all with a couple of coats of topcoat nail polish
I think the end result is cute, fun, and different.
What nail looks are you rockin’ this summer?
Disclosure: I was given a sample of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects from Walmart as mentioned in a previous post. This post is not sponsored by Walmart. I just wanted to share a fun and different way I like to use this product.
