I’m so excited to share with you guys this Skull Pumpkin. This little guy sits on our front porch and I think he is absolutely adorable!
When I was given the challenge by Walmart to create a pumpkin using Duck Tape I knew I wanted to do something with a skull on it. I’m kind of particular with skulls though, I like them to be cute rather than creepy. So I went to my local Walmart to gather up my supplies…
While at my local Walmart I saw these cute pumpkin stands. I knew the skull body one would be perfect for the skull pumpkin we would be making with Duck Tape. So here is how we put it all together….
The first step is to cover all of the orange parts of the pumpkin with white Duck Tape the best one can. I wrapped my pumpkin horizontally but I think vertically would be fine too.
Next, cover the stem of the pumpkin with black Duck Tape.
To finish off the stem, I cut a zig zag pattern in a piece of black Duck Tape (a long enough piece to wrap around the base of the stem completely without overlapping).
Now it’s time to give your pumpkin a little personality. Cut shapes out of black Duck Tape for the eyes, nose, and mouth.
The last step is to, of course, show off your pumpkin proudly by placing the finished “head” on top of the pumpkin stand that we found at Walmart. So, what do you think?
Have you ever decorated a pumpkin with Duck Tape?
The Duck brand is currently running a contest where others can submit their own pumpkin designs for Stick or Treat. There are rules like only creating with Duck brand Duct Tape so make sure you read them carefully. If you are looking for some ideas on what to create using Duck Tape, the gallery is a great place to start.
I don’t know about you but this is my first time creating anything with Duck Tape. I had a lot of fun doing it. Who knew decorating a pumpkin could be as easy as using a little Duck Tape? We will definitely be doing this again come next Halloween.
