As many of you may know by now, I’m a little addicted to nail art. Doing my nails is a beauty treatment I look forward to each week. But instead of going to an expensive salon, I prefer to do it myself preferably while catching up on my favorite TV shows. So, today I will be sharing with you all a new, limited edition DIY nail art kit that you can find at the drugstore!
I’m not one to buy expensive department store beauty products. I love being able to go to my local drugstore or Walmart to pick up the latest beauty product trends. Nail art is still trending and buzzing in the beauty world and it’s a great excuse for some DIY time! I was recently pitched about a Disney Villains Nail Art Kits by Kiss and sent a sample to try out. The first thing I noticed about the Kiss Disney Villains Nail Art Kit I received is that the artwork on the packaging is amazing! Just looking at the box makes me a little giddy with excitement.
The package has a flap on the outside that opens up to reveal a nail art idea that one can create using the Kiss Disney Villains Nail Art Kit. My kit is the Cruella De Vil one. But Kiss also makes 3 other kits as well: Ursula, Maleficent, and Evil Queen. Currently, these kits are limited edition and available in select Walgreens.
- Inside of the kit, you get all kinds of different materials to create your nail art:
- Flat Brush
- Foil Tape
- Nail Art Stickers
- Faux Rhinestone Sticker Sheet
- 6 HD Glitters
- Caviar Beads
- Kiss Top Coat
- Cuticle Stick
The glitters alone are just gorgeous. I love anything that sparkles! I took the glitter out of the packaging and stored them in an empty container I had stashed in my craft drawer. This way I can keep them all separated and I won’t have to worry about spilling the tiny packages they came in. Those 6 little packages of glitter don’t look like they hold a lot but I can already tell I can get several different nail looks and applications out of each one as a little bit of glitter goes a long way. The glitters I was immediately drawn to were the two white ones, the silver one, and the black dots.
Now it’s onto the fun part of creating a nail art look. This kit does not come with any nail polish so I went into my nail polish storage box to see what I had on hand, I choose my base color to be ‘Shell We Dance’ which is a gel because I want these nails to last through Halloween. After I applied the gel strips, then I applied foil tape stripes on all of my nails except for my accent nail and sealed them with a top coat. For my accent nail, I placed a foil tape strip along the tip of my nail. I then used the top coat that came with the Kiss Disney Villains nail art kit and dipped the tip of my nail into the red HD glitter. With the cuticle stick and a bit more top coat I carefully stuck bits of the black glitter all over the rest of my nail to look like “dalmatian spots”. I sealed everything with a top coat.
I love that the end result is subtle yet fun! Like I said there is a lot of different elements to this nail art kit, that many nail art looks can be created with it. This beauty products is definitely fun for the holidays.
