This week’s nails is another easy DIY option that one can do at home. Gel nails are all the rage and for good reason. Gel nails are pretty awesome in my book. They last up to 2 weeks (depending on how rough you are on your nails). What I love about gel nails is that they don’t chip very easily. I’m terribly rough with my hands from daily activities like typing, household chores, and crafting. And because of this I’m constantly on the lookout for nail options that will keep up.
I instantly fell in love with Sally Hansen’s Gel Polishes and Insta-Gel strips the moment I first tried them. When I saw some Insta-Gel strips on clearance, I couldn’t help but pick up a box to add to my nail care box. I knew I wanted to create a nail look with these Insta-Gel strips sometime soon because they are, in my opinion, easy to use.
The Sally Hansen Insta-Gel strip that I picked out was: Commander in Chic. It’s a brownish, grey color and looks oh so chic on the nails. What I love about the Insta-Gel strips is that once cured the polish is dry so I can quickly go about the rest of my routine without having a long dry time. Also with Sally Hansen’s insta-strips, whether the regular polish or the gel version, all of your nails have a uniform finish. There are no streaks and if you aren’t the best at painting your opposite hand these are a great option for that salon-look without the trip.
If you’ve been following my blog for some time, you’d know that I love an accent nail. I often switch up which nail is my accent nail from my ring finger, thumb, pointer finger, or any combination of the three. So to give my nails that bit of sparkle that I’m obsessed with I painted just the tips of my ring finger and thumb with Sally Hansen Gem Crush in 08 Glitz Gal after I applied the insta-gel strip. After the glitter polished dried, I then applied the gel top coat and cured it under the LED lamp.
