It’s been a while since my last Nails of the Week post. This is for several reasons. One being that the end of the school year is often a very busy time for this homeschooling Mom. Trying to finish up all of our studies by the last day of school is a tedious task but the end of the year is almost here and I am oh so excited for summer (maybe more so than my kids). With summer comes a lot more time to blog. YAY! I have lots of to-do’s on my blogging list (which I’ll talk more about in a later post)…it’s going to be a fun summer. But that is a side note, another reason why I haven’t been blogging my nails of the week is because I haven’t been changing it up very much. I discovered a new nail polish about a month ago and I’ve been utterly obssessed with it. I believe I’ve found “my color” and there isn’t another color I want to wear right now. I’ve repainted my nails this same look week after week. I just can’t get enough. I think it’s unique and different. And well….I’m just in love with it. There isn’t anything more I can say about it.
I first fell in love with the packaging of the Rimmel London Salon Pro with Lycra nail polish. It’s different than any other nail polish that I own and I love that. I’ve been looking for a good navy polish for quite some time. So naturally the color is what caught my eye next. In my opinion this is the perfect navy polish. It isn’t too bright. Since I adore darker nail polishes, I knew navy would be a way to change up my typically dark tips for the spring and summer months. It’s just perfect, for a lack of a better word. Dark yet different.
But how does it wear? For a nail polish, it gets good wear time paired with a great top coat. I was able to get up to 4 days with no tip wear. And when it does begin to wear, I only notice the tiniest bit. On my toes, this polish lasts a very long time as do most polishes. As one that types, crafts, and generally just uses her hands a lot, this is what makes a great polish for me. Something that will get me through a busy week is all I need.
To get my signature nail look you’ll need:
- Out the Door Fast Drying Top Coat
- Sally Hansen Gem Crush – 08 Glitz Gal
- Rimmel Salon Pro with Lycra- 711 Punk Rock
To get my signature nail look, first I applied two coats of Rimmel London Salon Pro with Lycra in 711 Punk Rock. This nail polish dries quicker than most I’ve tried so there isn’t a lot of wait time between coats (another bonus for me). After the two coats are dried, I then apply an accent nail using Sally Hansen Gem Crush in 08 Glitz Gal which I think is the perfect complimenting sparkle to the dark navy hue. Once my accent nail was dry, I then sealed everything with Out The Door fast-drying top coat for a super shiny, gel like manicure.
DIY manicures are my thing and nothing gets me more excited than finding a great nail polish to add to my collection. I’ve only found the Rimmel Salon Pro nail color in one store, so I’m hoping to see them in other stores soon so I can grab some more colors for my collection.
