Halloween Party Floral Table Centerpiece

Halloween is right around the corner.  Whether you will be entertaining party guests at your own haunted bash or just want to spruce up your kitchen table for the season, I’ve got some easy DIY craft projects to get your table centerpiece ready for the most haunted night of the year complete with a studded pumpkin, purple flowered witch’s cauldron and of course a haunting skull.

How to make a studded pumpkin for Halloween

As a Walmart Mom, I’ve been decorating my home for Halloween using products from Walmart for years now.  I prefer to get our Halloween decorations from Walmart because I know that they will be within our budget.  Of course, it isn’t really Halloween without a pumpkin somewhere in our decorations.  I found these adorable white pumpkins, $3.88, at my local Walmart store and knew that I wanted to do something to incorporate them into our Halloween Party Table Centerpiece.  Because the pumpkin is beautiful on it’s own, I kept it simple by just simply added a few “studs” in a random pattern around the top of the pumpkin.  The “studs” are just silver thumbtacks.  You can grab a 200 count package at Walmart for just $1.88 which is more than enough to decorate a small pumpkin with.

To create the focal point of our table, I picked up a witch’ cauldron from Walmart for $6.97.  Then I headed to the floral department of my local store to find the perfect flowers.  The deep purple of these Dahlia Bushes perfectly compliment our Halloween theme.  I picked up three bunches for $3 each.  I cut all of the flower stems off of the bunch to make it easier to arrange them in our cauldron.  To keep the flowers in place, I also picked up a 4.8 in. square floral foam cube for $2.97.  I placed the foam cube inside of the cauldron and began sticking the stems of the silk dahlia flowers into it.  I arranged and placed the flowers at varying heights so that the end result is dome shaped.  After all of the flowers were placed I felt like this floral arrangement needed a contrast in color so I picked up a package of striped straws for $.97 and placed them randomly throughout the flowers.  To finish our floral arrangement, I took a spool of glittered black organza, $2.97, and tucked it underneath the flowers so that no floral foam could be seen.

I arranged the table by first laying a simple black tablecloth by Mainstays, $9.84, onto our table.  Since our table has a center lazy susan, I took a piece of grey creepy fabric, $2.97, to cover it.  The grey creepy fabric gives the table centerpiece a cool, eery look almost like smoke billowing out from under the cauldron.  I arranged our floral cauldron and studded pumpkin with a skull, $3.97, to finish the look.

What a cute idea to do with the pumpkin! I haven’t seen the white pumpkins at my local Walmart, I’ll have to go back and check :)

What an easy way to decorate a pumpkin – tacks! I love it. i was going to carve a pumpkin this year, but maybe I need to take a less messier approach.
