Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Satin Frizz Control & Protect Shampoo and Conditioner Review

As a beauty blogger I’m constantly on the lookout for newest products in beauty.  I love the challenge of finding an awesome beauty product on a budget.  Over the last year, beauty products that you can find at stores like Walmart have really stepped up their game.  This makes me very excited.  Every time I visit my local Walmart store, I take a peek at the beauty section to see what is new.  When I was asked as a part of the Walmart Moms to try out a new (to me) hair care brand, Schwarzkopf, my tresses and I were more than eager.  I tend to concentrate mostly doing my makeup but doing one’s hair is a step not to skip.  Whatever your style, your hair is the frame of your face.  Hair can add to an outfit or makeup look.  Hair is so unique as it is different for everyone which is why it is so important to find the products that work best for you.  I love trying out a lot of different brands, especially when something new comes out, to find those products that my hair loves and works the best with.

Over the next several weeks, as a part of the Walmart Moms, I will be taking you all with me on a hair journey with Shwarzkopf products specifically chosen for my hair type- wavy/curly, frizzy, color-treated, dry, long, & damaged.  My main concern when it comes to my hair is taming the frizz.  Keeping the frizz under control (my hair loves moisture) is top priority especially living in the humid South.

This week we will begin by talking about Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime shampoo and conditoner.  I’m using the products Satin Frizz Control & Protect that are formulated for uncontrollable, frizzy hair.  One thing that immediately caught my eye on the bottle is “fast-drying”.  What is that about?

I’ve put my regular shampoo and conditioner plus styling products on the shelf and for the next few weeks I will be trying out various products from Schwarzkopf that were sent to me. The first two products that I have been trying out is the shampoo and conditioner for uncontrolled, frizzy hair called Essence Ultime Satin Frizz Control & Protect. Of course, I followed the directions on the back of the bottle. Up first was, naturally, the shampoo. What struck me about this shampoo is how incredibly soft my hair felt while I was lathering. Typically with shampoo my hair will feel very dry and striped. It often gets very tangled when I shampoo but this simply was not the case at all with this shampoo. I loved that the Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Satin Frizz Control & Protect shampoo ($6.97) made my hair feel sleek and soft. Then, it was onto conditioner. Again, I was surprised. Typically conditioner makes one’s hair feel very slippery when applied to the hair. My hair seemed to soak up the Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Satin Frizz Control & Protect conditioner ($6.97). It was a bit difficult to run my hands through my hair when the conditioner was applied. But as the directions recommended I left the product on my hair for several minutes before rinsing it out. I rinsed my hair completely with warm water and my hair felt long, and soft once again.

So what about that “fast-drying”?  As you can tell from the photos I have really long hair.  I didn’t realize how long my hair has actually gotten until my husband helped me take these photos with my phone.  In the first photo you see my hair right after my shower in which I used both the shampoo and conditioner of Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Satin Frizz Control & Protect.  I did not apply any of the products that I normally would apply to my hair right after I shower.  I simply wrapped my tresses up in a towel to catch any extra water, then combed through them lightly to get rid of any tangles.  I then proceeded to let my hair air dry.  Anyone with long hair knows that letting your hair air dry when it is long can take a very long time. I was surprised to find that the “fast drying” part of this hair care system does indeed help my hair dry much faster than it would normally.  It will be interesting to try blow-drying my hair to see if that processes is quicker as well.  But so far I am very impressed with the air-dried results.  I was afraid that “fast-drying” was going to mean that my hair was going to feel dry but that simply is not the case at all.  My hair feels so soft and moisturized from root to tip.

So what about frizz?  As I mentioned I do not have any additional product in my hair other than using the shampoo and conditioner prior to taking the wet/dry photos.  In the dry photo, you can see there is some frizz (more like hair that needs some control) but it isn’t nearly as frizzy as what my hair normally would look like without any product.  I feel like my hair looks a lot smoother without sacrificing any of my hair’s natural volume which is very important to me.

So far, I’m very impressed and pleasantly surprised with how well Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Satin Frizz Control & Protect shampoo and conditioner has worked with my hair.  I’m looking forward to sharing more from this new line of hair care products that are available at Walmart both in-store and online.  Stay tuned next week to find out what product I’ll be sharing about next.

Have you seen or tried any of Schwarzkopf new hair care products?

I am from Germany and grew up with Schwarzkopf product’s so I was thrilled to see them at Walmart on the shelf an doff course bought them, especially since my daughter has extreme frizzy hair. SO far we only tried the spray after you wash your hair but I bought yesterday the shampoo and conditioner and after I’m reading your post I’m excited to try them to. The reason I stumbled over our post was that i was searching for some perfume smelling similar to that spray. I used it on myself and as I just turned my head there was that awesome smell, which I realized came form my hair. So if you got any suggestions let here them :-D
