If you have been following along over the last several weeks I’ve been trying out different products from Schwarzkopf which is a line of hair care products available at Walmart. This week I’m trying out a completely different kind of product, wax powder. I’ve been watching closely as different brands have begun to introduce these powder type products and have been curious as to how they would work. There are different types of powder based hair products out there the key is figuring out which product will give you the results that you are searching for.

Since frizz is a major concern of mine, I was sent the Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Satin Frizz Control and Protect Wax Powder to try out. I’ve never really used “wax” in my hair before as it isn’t the type of product that I would normally think to use on my curly hair. However, this wax powder is different as it is supposed to be used to reduce frizz.

So how exactly do you use it? You don’t sprinkle it on your hair. Instead pour a small amount onto your fingertips and then rub your fingertips together to “melt” the product. The product is invisible. Once you have warmed up the powder in your hand then simple use your fingertips to smooth down any frizz in your hair.

I particularly enjoyed using this frizz control wax powder on the days that I curled my hair. Not only did it do an amazing job at keeping my curls defined but also kept the frizz down particularly near my part area. I love that this product offers a very flexible hold so my hair can still move as I move and my curls don’t feel stiff or sticky. As with most hair products I recommend using a little bit at a time until you have achieve the result you would like. Since the packaging of this product is so small, I’m thinking about keeping this product in my purse to fight frizz on the go. The Schwarzkopf Frizz Control and Protect Wax Powder can be found at Walmart for $6.97.
