One of my favorite parts of my recent trip to Walmart Headquarters in Arkansas was seeing all of the new makeup and hair products now available at Walmart. As a woman, I like to look my best when I go out, especially when it is for a special event for the holidays. At any given moment during this busy time of year I may be attending a holiday event or party so I like to be sure that I have products on hand to create a holiday glam look. Below are some of my must-have makeup picks to create a variety of makeup looks during the holiday season. With these products you can easily create simple to more dramatic looks depending on what the event calls for. But perhaps my favorite aspect is that all of these must-have makeup products can easily be found at Walmart at an everyday low price so I don’t have to worry about breaking my budget.

The following are some of my must-have makeup products that can be found at Walmart that I’ve been using to create a variety of Holiday makeup looks:

Wet n Wild coloricon Contouring Palette- 750A Caramel Toffee: this is my favorite contouring palette on the shelves at Walmart so far. As soon as it was released I fell in love with it. I can not wear a makeup look without some contouring and this palette offers a beautiful, matte contour shade that can easily be built up to as intense as you like.

Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder: seriously, this is the only face powder I’ve been using over the past year. It is lightweight and keeps me matte all day.

Maybelline Fit Me! Matt + Poreless foundation: the Fit Me! line of foundation from Maybelline is a favorite of mine. I love the way that this foundation blends in so well with my skin yet offers great coverage without feeling too heavy. My favorite way to apply this foundation is with a wet beauty blending sponge.

Maybelline Browdrama Pro Palette- deep brown: I was introduced to this product on my trip and it’s pretty amazing. In this palette you get 2 brow shades and a highlight shade plus two brushes. This palette did a great job at filling in my brows.

Maybelline Browdrama Sculpting Brow Mascara- Soft Brown: to keep my brows in place I love this tinted brow mascara. I don’t have to worry about my brows during a holiday party when I apply this.

Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer- 10 Fair: one of my favorite concealers from Walmart hands down, this concealer not only has good coverage but it also does a fantastic job for highlighing as well. This concealer doesn’t have a greasy feel to it at all so I feel like it stays put with less creasing.

Maybelline Master Prime by Facestudio- Blur + Smooth: before applying anything to my face, foundation or otherwise, I also like to prime my skin. This primer is a good one. It helps keep your makeup in place all day plus it has a smoothing effect as well.

L’oreal La Palette Nude 2: this may be my new favorite palette. The folks at L’oreal gave this to me on the holiday trip and I am in love. The Nude 2 palette has a range of beautiful purple to brown shades with a few shimmers in there as well. I love that this palette has matte shades and shimmer shades. I’ve been wearing this palette non stop since I received it as the shades in this palette is perfect at complimenting blue eyes.

L’oreal Magic De-crease: my holy grail eyeshadow primer hands down is this one from Walmart. Every single time I apply eyeshadow I use this before to keep my shadows from creasing. At the end of the day my eyeshadow still looks like it did when I first applied it and the feeling of this primer isn’t sticky at all.

Rimmel London Exaggerate eye liner: black: I always have to line black eyeliner on my top lid. After applying a black liner I will then smudge it a bit using an eyeshadow and a small eyeshadow brush.

L’oreal Collection Exclusive by Julianne: 620 Julianne’s Nude: since I like to play up my eyes in a dramatic way, I always go more subtle on the lips. This is a pretty pinky nude that will go with a variety of makeup looks during the holdiays.

Maybelline the Falsies Push Up Drama mascara- black: last but not least it’s time to finish off the look with a bit of mascara. This mascara is a new one from Maybelline and available at Walmart. It has a plastic brush but does a great job at volumizing the lashes. I did not see any added length but I liked the full lash effect that it gave.

To finish off a holiday look, we can’t help but talk about hair. On my trip I had the wonderful opportunity of a stylist doing my hair in a simple braided updo. I loved the look so much that I tried to recreate it once I returned home. The best part is that this simple updo is that doesn’t require a lot of products and everything that I needed I found at Walmart.

What You’ll Need for a Braided Updo:
L’oreal Lock it Weather Control Hairspray
L’oreal Boost It High Lift Creation Spray
Bobby Pins
Hair tie
Small hair rubber bands.

To create a braided updo, I first washed and dried my hair. Then I took a curling iron and wrapped sections of hair around the iron to create loose curls. I then lightly sprayed L’oreal Lock It Weather Control Hairspray all over my hair to hold the curl and fight back against humidity. My hair frizzes very easily because I have naturally curly hair so weather control hairspray is a must. Next, I used the L’oreal Boost It High Lift Creation Spray at the crown of my head to give that area some more volume. The Boost It High Lift Creation Spray sprays a very fine mist and does an amazing job at giving lift to the root where you spray it. After spraying some Boost It at the roots I then took two small sections of hair on either side of my part and braided it in a simple 3 strand braid, securing the ends with a small hair elastic. Then I gathered all of my hair in a low pony tail, securing it with a hair tie. I used bobby pins to secure sections of my pony tail to the back of my head to create a messy bun. I curled a few face framing pieces of hair to finish the look.
