As of late, I have been extremely bored. I’m over my illness but can’t seem to find any motivation to get anything done. I’m excited about moving and want to get started packing up all my crap but I’m not moving for at least a month so packing now seems pointless. I know the minute I pack something up that I’ll have to drag it back out of the box to use it.
I’m really not motivated computer wise, although I did manage to get up a new layout. I have some photos I’m supposed to be manipulating for a friend but can’t seem to find my “creative outlook” to get them looking nice and artsy. I hate to do something that I don’t have my whole heart into, especially if I am giving it to someone, because then the end result doesn’t come out as nice as it would have had I really wanted to do it. Does that make any sense? Or am I just going through a lazy spell??
I did manage to make some rice krispy treats, homemade pretzels, and cinnamon sticks over the weekend, all of which were big hits with the p-nut. I’ll post the pretzels and cinnamon sticks recipe on recipe rush as soon as the motivation hits me.
Today I made another Freezer Paper Stencil. This time on the back of a white button up long sleeve shirt. I made a stencil of the Korean cartoon character “Pucca”. She is so adorable to me and I love her little cartoons on the net. Here are some photos of the finished product…
So much has gone on in my little world since friday that I really have no where to begin but from the beginning. Last friday husband told me that we are indeed moving. So now I have to pack up my cluttered small apartment in the south and move to America’s “Heartland”. This is going to be so weird for me to leave all my family and friends behind and start a new life somewhere else without them. Family is a huge part of my life and I can’t imagine a day that I won’t be able to see them. Everytime I think about it, I get all teary-eyed. More on the whole moving thing later as the dreaded date draws near.
But on the subject of tears, Saturday I found out the most horrible, dreadful, unimaginable, shocking news that one never want to hear. I found out that a girl that was a childhood friend of mine had been killed tragically in a car accident friday afternoon. She was my brother’s age, 20. We would have sleepovers and play everyday all day long since I was a we little tot. My mind still can’t grasp the fact that she is gone. Like one minute she was here and the next minute she just ceases to exist. We never know how long we have on this earth, we are never guaranteed another second. I was unable to go to the funeral because of my little one but my mother and grandmother went. They said that they had never seen so many people at a funeral before. The whole entire funeral home was packed out all the way into the parking lot. Even the parking lot was full! She was truly loved by many. My mother said that when they wheeled her casket out of the room that all you could hear was a heart breaking scream from her mother. Can you imagine losing a child? I hope I never have to experience that pain.
Here is the article that was written in the newspaper about the crash. To protect the family I have smudged the last names of the family and some other information. I give full credit to the original writer of the article.

To top everything off, I have a stomach flu. I cannot stand for more than 5 minutes because I get very light headed and sick to my stomach. I’ve been throwing up since last night and just can’t seem to keep anything down. And to think that have the stomach flu wasn’t worse enough how about Aunt Mary decided to pay a visit as well. Uuggghh! I just feel horrible. I’m like a walking pepto bismol commercial right now…
“Nausea, Heartburn, Indigestion, Upset Stomach, Di-a-rrrrhiiii-aaaa. Yeah! Pepto Bismol.”
Well that is about all the time that my body has alotted me, Off to bed I go again. Gnight all. Until I regain my strength…
[edit] One last thing…I wanted to show you the t-shirt I made for hubby for Father’s Day. I did a freezer paper stencil of my son and painted it on a t-shirt. I’m still in shock as to how well it turned out. Did I really make this shirt?

…BzzAgent TheDomesticDiva to be exact! I am proud to be a bzzagent and to have this awesome opportunity to share the latest products with you.
First Rule of Fightclub BzzAgent : never Talk about BzzAgent!
BzzAgent: TheDomesticDiva
Favorite Campaign: n/a (haven’t experienced one yet)
What I am buzzing now: Hershey’s Take 5 candy bars
Why I am a BzzAgent: As a stay at home mother and blogger, I love to stay in tune with the latest trends and products. I love spreading the word to others about a really good product. And sadly, I even get a big kick out of trying out “new” products on the market [lets just say it doesn’t take a whole lot to amuse me]. Ever week whilst grocery shopping I scan the shelves for items that scream out “NEW!”. You could say I have a small obsession with being one of the firsts to try out a new product. I love the idea of reviewing items and posting them on my blog for you, my loyal viewers, to read and get an honest opinion about it. Unlike commercials, I don’t sugar coat anything. It is either good or it isn’t. It is either a hit or a flop. With each new product that I find I vow to give my very honest opinion whether good or bad.
Onto what I am bzzing about this very moment…
HERSHEY’S TAKE 5 CANDY BARS!
One word….YUM!!! This candy bar is so delicious words just can’t explain. What is in a Take 5 bar you ask? Pretzels, caramel, peanuts, peanut butter, and milk chocolate. Yes I did say pretzels. This thing has a whole pretzel in it. If this in any way sounds too out there for you, just give it a try you will be glad you did.
If you too would like to be a bzzagent, send me an e-mail at thedomesticdiva[AT]gmail[DOT]com and I’ll send you your very own personal invitation.
Photo above is taken of my son enjoying some goodies that the head bzzagent himself sent us to try. Let’s just say they were a big hit!
Original bzzagent/fightclub reference by the fairy blogmother. I said the phrase in my own little way but had to give credit to the original idea by the blogmother…hee hee.
So I just joined this flickr group that encourages you to pull out your makeup and take a picture of your goods. I don’t have a makeup bag, instead I have a makeup box- kind of like a tackle box, lol.

Hubby bought me some more paint today, so guess what that means? More Freezer Paper Stencils are to be made and shared with you! Yippee!
Ok for the past couple of months I’ve had this overwhelming urge to craft… something…anything…or I would explode! Today I finally did it. The exploding time bomb stopped ticking the moment I crafted my first skirt.
I found a skirt at a garage sale last week for $2. It was a perfect canidate for my practice of freezer paper stencils.
If you don’t know what a freezer paper stencil is…it is just your average freezer paper that you find at your local grocery store, it is like wax paper but instead of having wax or plastic on both sides of the paper it has it just on one side. You cut a stencil out of it and iron it on to whatever you want to stencil, making it primed for painting.
I’ve written a tutorial for you guys, just in case you wanna try it. And don’t think that this is just a chik project, my husband thought it was so cool he even did one himself. See fun for everyone! Trust me once you do one, you’ll be tearing the house apart trying to find something else to stencil.
Step 1: Find and print a black and white image [some good ones can be found here]. Then with the wax/plastic side down of your freezer paper, trace over the image.
Step 2: With an xacto knife, cute out the black parts of the image.
Step 3: Heat up your iron. Place the fabric with newspaper or cardboard underneath it onto your ironing board. Iron your stencil cut out onto your fabric. MAKE SURE THE PLASTIC/WAX IS ON THE BOTTOM. The plastic/wax melts onto the fabric so that your paint won’t bleed through and you have clean lines.
Step 4: Paint it up. I used just an old paint brush. You could use sponges, old clothes whatever. Make sure you use Washable Fabric Paint! [I used Tulip Soft brushable fabric paint in Velveteen Black and Pearl Snowflake from Michael’s arts and craft store ; each color will run you about $1.50 each]. Peel off he freezer paper as soon as you are done painting, being very careful of course as we don’t want to smudge our new work.
Step 5: Let it dry! After 72 hrs. you can wash it, just make sure you turn it inside out when you do.
Here are a few pictures of hubby doing his freezer paper stencil…
Tracing his picture onto freezer paper.
Painting his stencil onto a pair of jeans.
The finished product. He is so proud of his work, can’t you tell.
I’ll show you some more photos tomorrow when we are wearing our new fandangled outfits.
Well I finally decided on which product I wanted to use my gift certificate on. What did I choose? I chose the…
RAIN BOOTS!!!
![]()
Only problem is that my lovely boots are currently out of stock!!! They won’t have anymore in until the end of JULY! I know terrible! So I gotta wait for my beauties. But I have terrible “mommybrain” I will probably forget about them then whenever they decide to come in it will be really close to my birthday! So I’ll just think of them as a really cute birthday present for myself. I hope I’m not going to need them between now and then. During hurricane season, our little apartment tends to flood. Hence one reason I was hoping they would come sooner but oh well. I’m just happy that I finally ordered them. Life has been so hectic lately that I haven’t had a chance to breathe!
Oh yeah, right before I clicked the order button I saw a review for these lovely’s. A lady that had bought them said that they run a size bigger and that I should order a size lower than my actual size. So trusting that this lady knows what she is talking about I order a 6 instead of a 7. I hope she wasn’t making it up and then when I get them they are too small that would just suck. So I’m crossing my fingers that they will fit and I won’t have any problems with them. I know I’m just going to love them to death!
…everyone give a warm welcome to “KoJo”. This adorable terrior has been hanging out at my folks house for the past couple of days. Since no one has claimed him nor has he run off I decided to take him home with me. We were going to wait to get p-nut a dog for christmas but this little guy was just too darn cute to pass up.
He is so friendly and great with p-nut. P-nut is just in love with his new friend.
We guess-timate he is about 6 mos. old. Judging by his paws we don’t think he will get much bigger.
He is very tame and laid back, I don’t think it is going to be a problem training him. Since he has been here he hasn’t “messed” in the house yet.
