Moving Day!

Jul 28, 2006 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Commercial Break

Well ladies and gents moving day is upon us.  I’m up to my ears in boxes filled with junk.  We head out Sunday so more than likely unless I stumble upon internet access somewhere between here and the boonies I won’t be posting again until I reach my final destination.  So that means a slight hiatus for me.  But never fear, I shall return with lots and LOTS of pictures of our new humble abode.

But before I go, I’ll leave you with a few photos from last weekend.  Last friday, my best friend/p-nut’s godmother came by to say our goodbyes.  She came bearing gifts, Starbuck’s Caramel Frappuccino’s and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts….Yummo!

Also last weekend, we went down to Florida to visit my family.  My granfather isn’t doing so well so that was probably the last time that I’ll see him.  This was also the first time my grandfather and the rest of my family on my father’s side has seen p-nut.  Once we left the families house we went to the beach for a little while before we drove home.  This was p-nuts first time at the beach.  He really liked it.  He got to feed the seagulls and play in the giant sandbox.  Lots and Lots of fun.

WFMW: Drink Spills

Jul 26, 2006 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Commercial Break
WORKS FOR ME WEDNESDAY!

Your little one thinks he’s a big boy. You think he’s still a baby. He wants to learn new things. He wants to poor his own juice just like the big boys do. Well fear not. I have the solution for those spills that are inevitable to happen when your little one is learning how to pour his own drinks.

Open up your dishwasher.

Place the cup [that will hopefully contain some kind of liquid substance after a whole bottle of juice has been poured out] onto the dishwasher door.

Now the little one has a place that is just at his level to practice pouring his drinks.

Let him go at it.

If he does make a spill, don’t fret. It has been spilled into the dishwasher door.

When he is done getting his thirst quencher, Just close the door and the mess will be washed away the next time you do a load of dishes.

FURIOUS!

rainboots.jpgOk, ya’ll remember the rainboots that I’ve been raving over for the past 2 months. Ya’ll know how excited I am to get them. Well let me just tell you, I HATE amazon.com. I never want to do business with them EVER again. Only reason why I did this time was because I had a gift certificate, if you remember from this previous post and this previous post.

Well since being gone all weekend and doing random things around the house, I haven’t really had time to check my e-mail.  So I checked it today and this is what I got….

Hello from Amazon.com.
We are sorry to report that we will not be able to obtain the following
item from your order:
“Women’s Electric Ooze Black and White Rain Boots - 6″
Though we had expected to be able to send this item to you, we’ve
since found that it is not available from any of our sources at this
time.  We realize this is disappointing news to hear, and we apologize
for the inconvenience we have caused you.
We have cancelled this item from your order.
Note: If you took advantage of an Amazon.com or Toysrus.com
promotional offer when placing this order, this cancellation may
affect your order’s eligibility for that offer. If this
is the case, please contact customer service; if we confirm your original
order was eligible, we’ll reimburse you for the value of the promotional
discount. However, we can’t reimburse you for rebates offered by
manufacturers or by Amazon.com.
If appropriate, your gift-certificate account will be credited.
Your order is now closed.

WTF?!?!?!  I looked online today to make sure that they credited me back my money [which they did] but they STILL had the rainboots up for sale.  Why put them up for sale if you are going to make the customer think they are getting them in two months and then e-mail them 3 days before they are supposed to arrive and tell them sorry for getting their hopes up?

Darn Internet Land…

Jul 20, 2006 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Commercial Break

I tell ya, I get on the laptop to look up one thing in internet land and the next thing I know it is 2 in the morning.  Where does the time go?  Do they make a internet addiction patch like the stop smoking patches?  I need one of those, well both actually but I’ll start with the internet one first.  Tomorrow I need to pack some more so tonight I’m vowing to not get on the net at all.  Friday, my best friend is coming over for our fairwell starbucks hang out/date thingy, and I’m visiting family Saturday and Sunday so I won’t get a whole lot of packing done over the weekend.

So in my absence, please go and visit my very first tenant.  Yes, I finally did it.  I started renting out my blog.  My first tenant is greentearocks.com, pay her a little visit and tell her I sent ya!

Oh and btw, I made my first podcast…you can listen to it here… that is if you want to hear a country hick read a blog post.

See ya in a couple days…

Works For Me Wednesday: Product Samples

Jul 19, 2006 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Commercial Break
wfmwheader_copy3_2.jpg
This is my first WFMW submission. I stumbled upon this site today whilst blog hopping. It is a very cute idea. A bunch of mothers and some men submit their tips and tricks for making life easier.

What works for me? As you all know I aim to provide a list of links of free product samples for you to try. What do you do with all those samples? Well I put them all into a cute little basket [bought at the dollar store, $1, matches the bathroom] and place it on a shelf, back of the toilet, or near the sink. Fill it with all the great free product samples that I’ve received [and didn’t use for myself]. Why do you do this? For house guests. How many times have you go on vacation and had to go to the quickie store to pick up a sample bottle of shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, or even tylenol for that headache. Now when you visit my house you don’t have to worry about what you forgot to bring, because chances are I’ve got that very thing in the “goodie sample basket” by the sink. You can thank me later.

Wet Dream?

Jul 19, 2006 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Commercial Break, Beauty

Ok so I’m in bed, right. I’m in dreamland. A deep sleep. Loving the dream I’m having. Happy. Content. Restful. KoJo [my dog] is sleeping on top of my legs, on top of the covers. He’s in dreamland. A deep doggy sleep. Loving his doggy dreams. Happy. Content. Restful.

All of a sudden I feel a warm sensation begin to trickle down my legs. Am I dreaming? This is one weird dream. I continue to feel it. What the heck is going on? I pull myself out of dreamland. What is going on? Just about the time the warm wet sensation stops and turns cold, I abruptly wake myself completely up and fully realize what exactly is going on. KoJo is dreaming of….

PEEING!

Yes, thatz right ppl. My puppy-dog was dreaming of peeing and actually pee’d in his sleep….ON ME! Talk about a rude awakening.

So now here I sit….6 am. I’m bathed, the dog’s bathed, and the comforter and sheets are in the wash…..FULLY AWAKE! My Son will get the rest of his 4 hrs of sleep. I on the other hand can not go back to sleep after such a horrific awakening [and the fact that my bed now smells like dog pee….worst smell EVER….worse than baby poop].

So what does a mother do when she is awakened by being pee’d on by a sleeping dog? Color her hair and shave her legs of course. What? Did you actually expect that I’d be doing house work right now?!?! Hah! It’s mommy time now. I don’t think I’ve shaved my legs in like a month…ha ha.

Me in 2 weeks…

Jul 18, 2006 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Commercial Break

Whilst surfing some blogs, I saw this website, meez.com, that allows you to create a little animated cartoon of yourself. Like the avatars for yahoo. Anyways I thought it was so funny that they had a background of a tornado, that will so be me in America’s Heartland in a couple weeks. That is the one thing I am not looking forward to with the move, the threat of tornadoes. If you move to America’s Heartland, also known as Tornado Alley, tornado threats are bound to come up.

[edit] I just found another site that does the same thing but more cartoony. Here is the result….[/edit]

How ‘Bout some FREE stuff, YO!

Jul 18, 2006 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Freebies

I know ya’ll are all excited about free stuff and so am I. The weekly post for free goodies is back and better than ever. The free stuff post had to go on slight hiatus because of the whole moving situation. In the short 2 weeks that I’ve been unable to sign up for free stuff has nearly killed me. I would see soooo many really good free samples and be unable to sign up for them not having a house to send them to. Ok, enough babble on to the free stuff…

Uuugghh!

Jul 17, 2006 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Shopping

rainboots.jpgRemember back when I told you that I ordered these rainboots from amazon.com.  Well they were out of stock when I ordered them so I had to wait almost 2 months for them to come in.  Well they were supposed to be shipped on the 21st.  I just checked my order and now they won’t be here until the 26-28.  I really won’t those rainboots.  I’m just scared that they aren’t going to get here before I move.  Then I’ll have to wait till my folks come to visit so that they can bring them to me.  Uugghh!  Cross your fingers that they get here in time.
