Today I woke up to a cool 70 degree weather outside. How refreshing! So needless to say me and the p-nut spent the majority of the day out in the backyard playing fetch with mutt. Finally some weather that we can actually enjoy. Man, it has been so hot out here that it wasn’t even worth the hassel sometimes to try to enjoy it. We’d be outside for 5 mins and already be sweating buckets. Not today though, it was so pleasent. We enjoyed basking in the “cool” sun and being hounded by mutt to throw the ball one last time.
Last night we went to church. Now please keep in mind that I haven’t been to church since I was 18. I grew up in church. Went to a strict christian school and by the time I turned 18 I was just sick of having “church” crammed down my throat everytime I turned around. I want to “want” to go to church, not be “forced” to go. If the desire is not there you just simple are not going to get anything out of it. Many people go to church to make appearances or go because someone else is making them. I don’t think that is right. You should want to go. Anyhoo, hubby works with the pastors daughter so we decided to go and check it out. We both want to go to an interracial church for the simple fact that we are an interracial couple. It would be good for us to sociallize with other people that are like us and have to deal with the same problems and ignorance as us. As soon as we stepped in the door, hubby noted that he was the only “black” person there. What is amusing to me is that he is practically the only “black” person in this whole town! So what does he expect? I mean really. If there aren’t any “black” people in the town you live in then there isn’t going to be any in the church you go to. But anyway. Hubby gets over it and really starts to like the people. They are really friendly. Bordline sickening friendly. You know those people that are way too perky, enthusiastic, or happy about everything. Everyone here is like that. Not just in church but every where we go. You know how annoying it is to be in a bad mood and not want to be bothered and someone comes up to you in their annoyingly perky self and just starts…well…annoying you. That is what it is like here…ALL THE TIME!
It is a pretty good church. I liked the preaching. The singing, well, that was a little weird. I’m what you call a “backseat baptist” meaning I’m not really into the whole dancing around, clapping your hands, raising your hands in the air type of singing. I’m quiet and shy so it is hard for me to just be “out there” like that. But I can by-pass the singing and just do my thing by standing like a statue or sitting down. Worship in your own way, right?
Prayer…Wow! what a change. Everyone prays OUT LOUD when the preacher prays. So it is a loud uproar of voices each time we bow our heads. I’ve never seen that before. Beside people saying “Amen” or “That’s right” or “Thank you Jesus” whilst the preacher prays I’ve never seen people just pray a whole prayer out loud while the preacher is talking. It is kinda rude, I think. Like, aren’t you supposed to pray silently in your head whilst the preacher prays?? Wouldn’t that be more productive and not so noisy?
P-nut loved the nursery. He didn’t even cry when we left him. I mean he could have at least missed me just a little bit. I think I missed him more than he missed me. I even started to tear up a bit when I left but fought them back so I wouldn’t come off as a blubbering mess. What was weird is that security measures that we had to go through just to put him in the nursery. We had to have our picture taken and then we had to give them all of our personal information. I think we had to give them everything but blood to have our child put in the nursery. They gave us a beeper in case the p-nut needed us. P-nut was so mad when we had to leave. He even teared up a bit. He really liked his new friends and all the neat toys.
All in all, it was a fun experience. I’d definately want to go back and check out Sunday’s service. I know I want to go whenever hubby doesn’t have to work, just so p-nut will get an hour or two with some other kids.

I don’t know who started this meme or where I saw it. I give full credit to the original creator of the Day in the Life thing, this is not my original idea. Ok, with that said, enjoy my day…
[edit] I had a FULL day written out with pictures but when I went to post it, somehow half of the post got cut off, since I don’t want to go back and do it all over again, I will just post half a day. Sometime next week I’ll do a full day for you guys. Enjoy![/edit]
Good Morning! I was originally up at 7 but the hubby went and got the p-nut and put him in the bed with me so that I could get a couple more hours of sleep. So we woke up at 9.
I thought I could sneak off and get a shower before the little one woke up again but as soon as I took this picture he woke up. So much for that shower. Funky it is!
So off we are to get ready for the day.
Our drug of choice this morning…strawberry milk [p-nut] and a starbucks double shot [for me].
Breakfast time for the p-nut. On today’s menu…Oatmeal!
Oatmeals done, time to eat! Ooops, mommy forgot to add cinnamon and sugar.

Yet, another wonderful find whilst grocery shopping were the *New* Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie Milkshakes . What a wonderful concept. They were right next to the Starbucks Doubleshots and Frappaccino’s, an aisle I frequent often, I saw the chocolatey goodness starring back at me, screaming for a review. A grabbed one and rushed to the checkout. I couldn’t wait to pop it in the fridge to get it nice and cold so that I could taste it. On the bottle it says it is
a euphoric milk beverage, all shook up with rich chocolate & other natural flavors
. You will definately go into a choco-euphoria or a choco-coma after drinking this beverage. It is so thick with rice starch that it actually coats the glass and pours slowly from its glass, exactly what you want with a milkshake. Don’t you hate it when the milkshake is “watery” and doesn’t have enough “shake” to it. It isn’t made with icecream, but you couldn’t tell the difference if you tried. And ladies, for those of you that crave chocolate during your monthly “Aunt Mary” visit this is definatley that fix you were
