Parent Bloggers NetworkMy house consists of a husband, a 2 yr old boy, a newborn son, a 4 yr old step-son, a 6 yr old step-son, a male dog, and a male bird. Being the only estrogen fueled being in a household full of testosterone can be pretty tough, especially when it comes to entertainment. I mean lets face the facts, I wasn’t raised to know how to interact with this many boys. I don’t know the first thing about what a boy likes or dislikes or even how to create a fun activity for them. I was raised on barbie dolls and baking not skipping rocks and go-kart making.

Thank goodness someone finally came out with a book to help a struggling mother connect with her boys. Although, The Dangerous Book for Boys is geared more towards creating a healthier father/son relationship, it is still great for mothers by getting them “in tune” with what boys like to do.

“In this age of video games and cell phones, there must still be a place for knots, tree houses, and stories of incredible courage. The one thing that we always say about childhood is that we seemed to have more time back then. This book will help you recapture those Sunday afternoons and long summers - because they’re still long if you know how to look at them.”

Conn Iggulden and Hal Iggulden, “The Dangerous Book For Boys”

This adventurous book is like a boys how-to guide to dangerous fun. The projects, wisdom, and fun displayed on every page will have your kid running to school the next day wanting to show off his new found knot tying skills. Every weekend that my step-children come over we have to do at least one project from the book. The following week the boys can be heard in the school hallways bragging about what they made or did over the weekend.

A big thank you goes out to PBN and Dangerous Book For Boys for allowing me and the boys to review such a wonderful book.
