With the holidays fast approaching everyone starts to get in the entertaining spirit. Personally, for me, holidays are just the best time of year because I love to cook and entertain people in my home. I cook all the time for my family but it is also so rewarding to cook something for someone else and see them enjoy it. With the entertaining that I hope to be doing this year, having a really great dinette sets is key! I have a round dinning room table that has two different drop in leaflets to make the table bigger to seat more guests. Often times though we just make the table bigger to hold all of the food that I prepare throughout the season. That way each guest can serve themselves buffet style.

So this is the dealio. A week ago after hubby got his vasectomy he comes up to me and tells me that he is unhappy. I proceed to ask him why he is unhappy and he says that he feels as if I do not support him. After talking a while he says that he has been angry with me since we were first married and my refusal to just get up and move at the drop of a hat due to not having any money saved. He says that I was “cut off” from him then and the 4 years that followed to this date. After a long discussion over the weekend, hubby and I agreed that I should stay with my parents for a while so we can both think to ourselves and figure out if we want to be married. Hubby finally came to his senses last Thursday and told me to come home, which I did. This whole “split” was nothing but talk of divorce and I truely thought that was where we were headed. Hubby through talking to everyone in his cellphone realized that you have got to let your anger go and to not keep building it up year after year. When I got back he still refused to put his wedding ring back on. My heart was truly broken. I cried so much thinking that my marriage was going to be over because of some anger that should have been resolved a long time ago. But now hubby has realized that he needs to get some counseling from a pastor to try to work out his anger issues. I am relieved that we are no longer talking about divorce and that we are both trying to work out issues to get this marriage back on course. He thinks that he is going through a mid-life crisis and with the vasectomy stirred up a lot of past emotions. I appreciate everyone keeping my family in your prayers. We are doing a lot better but still have a long road to go down.

Today, I asked hubby if he would start wearing his wedding ring again and he agreed. My heart nearly skipped a beat. It never used to bother me that he didn’t wear his wedding ring due to it irritating his finger or whatever but now seeing him wear it gives me a since a peace. Peace that he does truly love me like he says he does and that we are going to get past this ugly divorce thing and never look back. We have planned to start going to church together on a regular basis depending on his work schedule so that will be great for the whole family.

All we can do is move forward. Marriage is a lot of work and you just can’t throw in the towel anytime it gets a little rocky. I know we will be better off grounded in the Lord. Through him all things are possible.

I admit that after having two kids and moving twice you just kind of get stuck in a rut with one another but now each day brings a new light. Everytime he says “I love you” brings more joy to my heart. I saw how quickly my life as I see it now could go away in an instant, so every moment I try to hold dear. I don’t want to take this wonderful life that God and hubby has provided for me for granted one more day. I want to make it the best that I possibly can.

One thing that I am wanting to change to get us out of our old marriage rut is to do more things together. With kids it is hard but watching a DVD together or sitting down as a family eating supper are all things that can bring us closer together as a family unit.

We will get through this and we will be stronger than ever!

One of my favorite features of all of the zolowear pouches and slings are the pockets that they have built in. In the photo I am wearing the peacock solarveil sling. This sling is very comfortable. It is also very breathable which keeps me and baby cool during these hot summer months. Since the sling is made out of mesh you can even go wadding in the pool in it. Once the summer is over you can always wear it in the shower and bathe the baby that way.

But back to the pockets which is my favorite feature. On the tail of the ring sling has a pocket that is a really great size. Australia is such a beautiful place to visit. There is so much to see in Australia that it is almost too hard to pick which place you would like to visit first. Since the Perth International Arts Festival is coming up in Perth would be a great place to start, I think. There are some wonderful Hotels in Perth that you just have to see. If you are unfamiliar with the festival it is held every summer and it features all of the finest artists and performers.

Some other great places to stay would be at the Hotels in Adelaide or Melbourne Accomodations. Really you can’t go wrong wherever you stay in Australia because it is beautiful no matter where you go. But if you are a lover of music and all things artistic make sure you book your vacation during the festival.

Howard Miller clocks is the world’s largest maker of grandfather clocks. I’ve always adored grandfather clocks. There is just something about them that I like. Maybe it is the fact that I love the the nutcracker story or that my mother in fact owns a grandfather clock similar to this one. As I child I can remember staring up at that the wall above the kitchen table where my mother’s grandfather clock hung counting the pendulum as it swung back and forth counting the seconds of every day. I’d stare at that clock when I was in trouble and couldn’t leave the time out spot as well as while I would eat our family meals together waiting for my favorite show to come on. I’m sure that clock has a personality of its own and I hope that one day I will be able to inherit it.

As I look through my house I know realize what my house is missing. My house is missing a really great grandfather clock. One that you can hang on the wall just like my mother’s house has. I’m sure my kids would love to watch the pendulum just as much as I did as a child. In our current house we have a brick wall in our kitchen that is bare and needs something hung from it but until now I couldn’t think of anything to hang there. Now I know just the thing, a great grandfather clock would surely do the trick and fill up the empty space just nicely!

The Parking Pal is perhaps the most genius invention I’ve ever seen. It is a magnet that you stick on your car with a little hand print on it. For those of us mothers that have more than one child this “sticker” is a life saver! When you are loading the baby in the car tell your squirmy toddler to play the “sticker game” [that is what my family calls it anyway]. Tell the child to place his hand on the sticker on the car and to not move until it is his turn to get in the car. Now I know you are little skeptical that this whole “sticker game” business is just a joke but trust me it really works. Pnut immediately goes up to the car and places is hand on the sticker as I either load groceries or put the baby in his car seat. He loves to play the “sticker game” and loves to hear what a good job he was doing by waiting patiently.

I love that the Parking Pal teaches my child obedience, patience, and a sense of accomplishment. Who would of thought that you’d get all of that out of a car magnet? These magnets are a must-have for busy moms with multiple children on the go! The most important thing about the parking pal is that it keeps your child SAFE! That is what we all want.
