There is a new show out on the preschoolers block of television programing on the Discovery Channel entitled Wilbur. Wilbur is such a fun little show. It is puppet animals going through all kinds of adventures. My son absolutely loves puppets over cartoons so this was right up his alley. Just like Sesame Street these characters are fun and loveable. You will definitely find a favorite character. I am just glad that there is another program on television for my toddler that is just as educational as Sesame Street. Here are the times and channels that the show appears on…

Of course, Wilbur is my son’s favorite character. Wilbur teaches children that reading is fun. Usually after my son watches this show he wants to go grab a book and read. I love how this show teaches kids a love of learning. Wilbur encourages kids to turn to books for answers and adventures. Wilbur is a great show for preschoolers because it teaches them the basics of learning in a fun and interactive way. A part of the program that my son loves is the singing parts! He loves to sing and hum the little tunes all throughout the day. Watch as Wilbur reads a story and see it acted out right before you eyes. Teaching a child the love of books and the love of reading is a great thing to instill at such a young age. This show teaches children fundamentals that will help them for the rest of their life. I thoroughly enjoyed this show just about as much as my son did. I encourage all of you parents out there with preschoolers to look into when this show comes on in your area. Not only is it entertaining for the wee-ones but it is also educational and anything educational is always welcome in our home.

We are a huge Sesame Street family and were pleasantly surprised to find yet another show that could possibly be up there on the same level as our favorite show. They both have really great puppets and the ability to teach children the fun of learning in a kid-friendly way. Although our beloved show can never be replaced, I think Wilbur comes in at a tight second on shows that are mom-approved as well as a joy to watch.
