Jump Start World
Jump Start World is a new educational computer game for kids. My 3 year old son loves to play Jump Start World Kindergarten and even tries to figure out Jump Start World 1st Grade. I am OK with him being advanced and learning things ahead of his age.
We play a lot of online games on the PBS website and it is great that we now have a game that teaches him the same concepts and gives me a report of how he is progressing in the program. The only drawback to the Jump Start World games is that they are kind of hard to install. We have 4 computers in our house. Yes, I know that seems a lot for a family but we are very computer oriented meaning that at any given time, 3 of the 4 people that live in this house is typically on a computer. I use the computer for work, my husband for music, and pnut for educational gaming. With the 3 computers and 1 laptop that we have, I was only able to install the game on one computer that we have. Why is that? Because only one of these computers had a 3D graphics card. Newer computers shouldn’t have a problem running this game I don’t think.
But once you get it all installed watch the learning begin. Pnut is very interested in learning right now so this game came at the right time that is for sure. We absolutely love it! I can see how this game can help us in the future when pnut actually starts school. It has already given him a leg up on others in his class before he has even been enrolled in preschool. It is good to see my son learning so much just from one little game. The best part about this game is that it is affordable for anyone to purchase. At just $20 you can have a great stocking stuffer this year for your little one. There is a free trial at the Jump Start World website that you can try out to see if you and your family would like to add it to your family activities.
