Real beauty is on the inside. That is what we have all heard growing up but in today’s soceity a woman can’t help but seem insecure about herself with all of the images of “beauty” being shoved our way via magazines, television, and movies. Personally, I am sick of this stick thin, “fake” look that the media is trying to push woman into being. The unrealistic image they are portraying isn’t an image that just affect women but it affects men as well, although many of them won’t admit it.

Girls growing up in today’s soceity shouldn’t be subjected to this torture any longer. It is time for us as mothers to take a stand and remind our girls that this isn’t real beauty. The beauty portrayed on television is with hours of make up and hair, photoshop techniques, and unsafe plastic surgeries. Beauty is who you are naturally without all the bells and whistles.

You can take a stand against this unhealthy, unnaturally look of beauty by joining the Campaign for Real Beauty. You can also get involved by joining the Dove Self-Esteem Fund.
