There are times where I will be on the internet just about all day for several days in a row. I am trying to break the habit. I have developed a routine that I plan to try to stick to. As the days get warmer and as I see my children growing up way to fast, I realize that it is way more important to watch my children grow up than it is to waste my life and my kids lives away fiddling on the internet. So my days are constructed as such…

7:30-8:30 wake up time, feed the kids, make coffee, workout (usually 30 minutes of yoga) get kids dressed.
8:30-9:30 educational television for kids, shower for me
9:30-10:30 play time with kidlets
10:30-12:00 beanies first nap, special time with pnut
12:00-1:30 lunch and clean up time, beanies bottle
1:30-3:00 nap for kidlets, work for me (this is the time I get to play on the computer, work do whatever)
3:00-5:00 straighten up, more play with the kids (outside if it isn’t too cold or rainy), start dinner, kids snack time.
The rest of the evening is typically play it by ear.

I have been utilizing this system for about a week now and it is working out really well. In fact, I am turning into a morning person. I know as shocked as I am, I have been going to bed at 10, 10:30 most nights. Incredible. I typically would stay up till all hours of the morning and get up right before noon. Since I’ve started slowly but surely weening myself from the internet, I feel much more relaxed, I am enjoying my family more, and I don’t typically have the aches in my neck that I used to have from being crunched over my mac all day. Now I know there will be days that I absolutely have to be on the computer all day due to deadlines or what have you but my overall goal is to spend less time glued to my computer screen and more time with my children before they are grown and gone. Besides when I am not by my computer then that means I have more time to take beautiful photographs.

Do any of you feel you are addicted to the internet?
Are there days where all you do is surf the net?
