Getting Back to Love: When the Pushing and Pulling Threaten to Tear You Apart is a good read for couples. It is about how a Mama’s Boy and a Daddy’s Girl personality types have a great potential for passion and romance but if not handled correctly have the potential for ending in tragedy. I am very much a Daddy’s Girl who finds great fulfillment in taking care of others especially my husband. Getting the OK or pleasing my husband or father is probably the greatest fulfillment that I have in life because they are the ones that mean the most to me. As much as my husband hates to admit it due to the death of his mother at the age of 5, he is still a Mama’s Boy. He loves to be taken care of and finds power knowing that I am happy.
I am only half way through this book and finds that it is helping our relationship tremendously. I hope that once I finish reading it once through myself to incorporate this book into hubby and I’s nightime devotionals so that we might learn from the book together as a couple. I think that we must first be open and willing to hear the things that we need to change in order to do some good in our relationship.
