Every baby wearer out there should have a Polkadot Papoose in their babywearing stash. The slings that Polkadot Papoose are so beautiful, they literally make you want to put it on. Unfortunately, I was unable to snap a good photo of me and the bean using our Polkadot Papoose but still you can see in the image to the left how beautiful the fabrics are. Another plus is that this sling is reversible allowing you to coordinate with whatever mood or color scheme you might be rocking on that particular day. The pattern I have is called cosette.
What makes pouch slings a necessity is the easy factor. All you do is put it over one shoulder and pop the baby in the pouch and you are out the door. I keep one pouch in my car, one in the diaper bag, and one at home for whenever the baby gets fussy or he just can’t be on the floor at that time but I need my hands free.
If you are new to babywearing and have no idea where to start, then start off with a pouch sling then graduate to the more complicated babywearing attire.

That’s a beautiful design. It looks like a nice, non-intimidating sling - especially for new babywearers or first-time moms.
I obviously have no need for a sling, but that has to be one of the prettiest slings I’ve ever seen!
The little pocket on the front looks handy too.
That is a gorgeous sling, and you are completely right about pouches being the easiest to use. They are also one of the safest with no buckles or straps to break.
I nursed my son for 13 months in a pouch, and still use it to this day. He is now 2 1/2 and 32 pounds! I too have them stashed everywhere! You never know when you are going to need one!
