LAF Brand Roll-N-Go Rollable Diaper Caddy

Jun 30, 2008 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Product Reviews

I don’t have an opportunity to take a photo of my new favorite accessory since I am in the middle of moving (packing and unpacking the house) but I would like to introduce it to you. It is called the Roll-N-Go Rollable Diaper Caddy. This thing is so cool and so convenient that every mother should get one! What it is is like a diaper bag liner. It easily organizes everything from diapers to wipes to even bottles and pacifiers. It rolls up neatly to line the inside of your diaper bag and if you are one of those moms that likes to change diaper bags as often as they change shoes then all you have to do is grab the Roll-N-Go diaper caddy and transfer it to the new diaper bag without having to worry about reorganizing everything. How great is that! Ease and convenience, gotta love it!!!

TripFlix: Take a Vacation without leaving your Living Room

Jun 29, 2008 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Product Reviews

TripFLIX is a fun, interactive DVD that takes families from boring everyday life in their Living Rooms to a fun vacation without even leaving the couch. With the cost of gasoline rising everyday, many of us are just simply cutting out our vacations this year for the lack of funds to get us there. Instead of dreading not having a vacation this summer, why not take one in your own living room. By viewing TripFlix as a family you are able to see fun and exciting vacations spots in other places of the country without actually having to be there. Every wanted to visit Space Camp in Illinois? Well now you can.

TripFlix takes you to 25 fun exciting places across the country. Learn fun interesting facts and when it is time for you to take a vacation again you can visit one of the places that you previewed on the DVD which will make the kid’s super excited about visiting now.

I love the idea of TripFlix because let’s face it not everyone can afford to go on some big, fancy vacation year after year. Sure we all need a little vacation but if the means are there it isn’t going to happen. I am greatful for TripFlix and the fun it has provided me and my family.

Getting My Move On

Jun 28, 2008 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Domestic Duties

Well it is FINALLY moving day! *angels singing* I know it has seemed like FOR.EVER. First I want to thank everyone that sent emails of concern and donated whatever they could to help go toward the cost of repairs and gas needed during the Mother’s Day Tornado that hit our new home. I will never forget how much you, my readers, have helped me out in such a difficult time of my life. You guys ROCK!

Just to let you know, we got a new roof and a new deck on our home because of the damage that the tornado did. We still have a security light down in the backyard but it is supposed to be fixed soon, so we just will have to stay out of the backyard until the pole is fixed due to some exposed wiring back there.

Have I mentioned that I hate packing. Oh I LOATHE packing! But you gotta do what you gotta due besides I think everyone is anticipating the move even we ourselves physically do not want to do the moving part.

So continue to keep us in your prayers as we try to move and adjust in our new home. I am not sure when I will have the internet up and running in our new home so I have gone ahead and scheduled some posts to post in my absence so that I can concentrate on unpacking and such. So there won’t be any dead air space here at the Domestic Diva for at least a week, I hope.

Well, the truck is calling time to hit the road Jack. Wish us luck!!!

Fotografi Friday: Week 4

New Camera Strap

Well this week’s Fotografi Friday pic isn’t anything special but yet something very special to me. At the beginning of the month I was able to purchase a custom funky camera strap that I had been eyeballing for a while now. I finally got enough money saved up and I couldn’t be happier with it. Even though it took nearly a month to get to me I am so thankfully that it finally came in the mail. The best part is that this camera strap is completely girly and full of bright pink colors.

The strap is fun and super durable. This isn’t like those strap covers that you might have seen floating around the internet that just simply goes over your existing strap, no this is a full custom made strap. Gorgeous isn’t it.

Also if you will notice that on my camera strap I have something unique…buttons! I collect buttons on my camera strap. Right now I only have two buttons. One that says “I’m so crafty I make people!” and another one from Me Ra Koh that says “Refuse to Say Cheese”. If you make buttons and want to see yours on my camera strap (think free advertisement) then email me (thedomesticdivaATgmailDOTcom) and we can work something out.

I want to hold a Jellyfish

Jun 27, 2008 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Mommy Matters

My stepsons, who stay with us during the summer, have an obsession with Spongebob Squarepants. The same annoying cartoon that I refuse to let anyone watch in my presence and the same one that Pnut refers to as “Somebob Firepants“. During a conversation with the boys we were discussing what a beach was and how my stepsons have never gone to a beach before. The conversation went a little like this…

Stepson #2: I want to go to beach!
Me: You do, why?
Stepson #2: Because I want to hold a jellyfish just like Spongebob!
Me: OMG, you can’t hold jellyfish! They. Will. KILL. YOU!
Husband from the other room: JELLYFISH WILL KILL YOU!
**silence**
Stepson #2: Well, then why does Spongebob get to hold them?
Husband from other room: Because spongebob is stupid!
**scene**

I would like to go on the record for stating that I hate SpongeBob and his stupid little cartoon. Besides, they are going around teaching kids they can hold jellyfish! What the fudge!

The $39 Experiment

Jun 26, 2008 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Around the WWW

The $39 Experiment is a very interesting concept that a man started with a simple $39 roll of stamps. It is worth the read that is for sure if not give us all a little inspiration to do a little more with our time.

If I ruled the world: Dishwater would be obsolete

Jun 26, 2008 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Marriage Monologues, Domestic Duties

One thing I absolutely can not stand is sticking my arm in a sink full of cruddy dishwater. Dishwater that has just been sitting there with gross food particles, soaking in yesterdays dishes. My husband has this thing where he washes dishes, since we don’t have a dishwasher it is done by hand, and instead of emptying the sink when he is done, he leaves a sink full of gross dishwater. I don’t mind the washing dishes part and I totally understand the letting the tough to clean dishes soak a bit in the hot soapy water but when that hot soapy water runs cold and the leftover food particles float to the top then I begin to get a little grossed out.

Please view Exhibit A…
Dishes

Exhibit A is a what NOT to leave for your wife when she gets up in the morning to feed YOUR children. There is absolutely nothing worse than to wake up and have to stick your arm in a cold sink full of nasty dishwater to drain it. It takes two seconds to drain a sink. Is that too much to ask? Please view the right side of the sink, that is something I don’t mind greeting me everyday when I stumble into the kitchen to make breakfast for all the little kidlets.

So if you are one of those people that leaves the dishwater sitting in the sink until the next day, please do your spouse a favor and drain it!

Thank you!

30-Day Challenge: Weekly Weigh In

Jun 25, 2008 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Commercial Break, "the Diet"

Domestic Diva 30-Day ChallengeWell it is that time of the week again for all of our 30-day challengers to hop up on those scales and tell us the results.

This week I have been extremely busy spitting out tons of design work as well as scrambling to pack up the house in order to move by the end of the week. If I’m not on the computer then I am waist deep in a cardboard box. This leave very little time to eat much less think of what to eat.

So this week I have lost a HUGE whopping ONE POUND. Exciting I know but when you have lost anything since the beginning of the challenge you are pretty excited about that one pound. I just wish I had some more time on my plate to actually work out instead, I know my body needs a good workout in fact it begs for it I just don’t have time right now to fit it into my schedule.

All right everyone, be brave. Hope on the scales and give us your results. Remember after this weigh in we have one more week before we announce winners. Give it all you got this last week!
