Bean pretending he is going to schoolAs a mother I struggle with the task of trying to think of new and exciting things for the boys to do on a dull summer afternoon. When it is too hot to go outdoors and the kids won’t stop screaming my name, we came up with Craft Time. Each day for an hour or two the boys sit around the Step 2 Creative Projects Table and create whatever their little hearts desire. Anything goes during craft time, they can glue, cut, color, whatever so long as it is creative and done at their “special table”.

The Step 2 Creative Projects Table gives craft time a new meaning of organization. The sides house all of our color books and school prep work. The top has anything from paints to playdough. And the four compartments on the sides of the top of the table holds all of our crayons, markers, colored pencils, and stickers. It is great to have a place in the house specifically designed for the boys to do their crafts other than the kitchen table. Now messes are easily kept at bay and the boys feel a sense of responsibility for their new play space.
