Gimp Tutorial: Make your Photos more Colorful by Adjusting Brightness and Contrast

Many people ask me how I make my photos look so vibrant and alive. Well, it is really a very simple trick that you can do in Gimp or any other favorite photo editing program. Below is a quick how-to video on how to make those photos come alive!
Here are the actions taken in gimp to take a boring, straight out of camera shot and turn it into something full of color….
Open up Gimp
Open up Photo you want to edit
At the top of the Photo in the menu bar Choose Colors> Brightness Contrast>
Adjust the Contrast Scale by moving the slider or typing in a number in the box (I choose 60 for this photo)
Click OK
Watermark it, Save it, You are Done!
Please let me know if this tutorial has helped you in any way. Also if you don’t mind showing off your work, post a link to the photo that you edited.

Wendy…I plan on keeping it up. Just let me know if you ever want to know how I did something and I’ll try to do a tutorial for ya.
Drea…..I am using a maxed out iBook. I love Mac, he is my best friend. The only reason why it is loading so slowly was because I was filming my actions, typically it goes so much more quickly not a lot of drag time at all. I bought this iBook back in January on Ebay for just $300 and it is maxed to the limit! All new comps for me from here on out will all be macs.

So you were filming it through ur mac? thats cool.
Thats an awesome price. I just invested in the macbook pro 15 inch for my business… its so fast! So much faster than my PC. My dad an IBM man (he has been working for them for over 30 years) was kinda niffed haha he calls my computer the yuppy machine. He was impressed by the macs performance tho. I think deep down he wants one
