Faux Hawk or Mohawk?

The definition of a faux hawk according to urbandictionary.com is…
A toned-down version of the famous mohawk haircut, in which the sides of the head are shaved and a central strip of hair is made to stand up. The faux hawk resembles the mohawk when styled but can also, if desired, appear to be a conventional male haircut.
But you see we did shave the sides of pnut’s head, just a little bit, but just not all the way down till we saw skin. So I ask you, is pnut rocking a faux hawk or a mohawk. By definition a faux hawk would be something that looks like a normal haircut but if you wanted something funky all you had to do was gel it out. But a mohawk as we all know is when the sides are completely void of hair with the exception of a thick strip down the middle that you often spike upwards.
So is pnut rocking a faux hawk or a mohawk? Or maybe we should just call it a faux mohawk. What do you think? Either way, I think his new haircut is super cute. It makes him look older. Pnut is loving his new rockstar look. He goes to the mirror every half hour or so, gazes at his reflection, fixes “the hawk”, and then proclaims he is a rockstar!

If you were wondering, yes we typically cut our kids hair ourselves because it saves us money.

I think that may count as a mohawk, cause there is cutting of the hair on the sides. But it’s cute!

channah & thefarmerfiles….. thanks for the comments. I do think it might be a mohawk, just not as extreme. He totally had the confidence now. He’s loving his new rocker look!! Now his hair fits right in with his moms.

Love the hair, absolutely love it! I would definitely consider it a mohawk.
And I love that you and the hubby cut the kidlets hair. I have my mother cut our little guys hair because I’m too big a wimp and too attached to his curls!

Jessica….I studied to be a cosmetologist/esthetician before becoming pregnant with my oldest and diving into the world of blogging. I’m used to cutting hair from my husband all the way down to our dog. The only person that goes to get a “real” haircut in this family is me and that is only because it is hard to try and cut your own hair otherwise I would totally do it myself. Haircolor though, I do that by myself so that saves money….tons of money!

@Supermummy….Hey there! So glad you decided to comment. Candy or a special treat like watching their favorite movie to be rewarded at the end of the experience is a great way to get a child to cooperate. Try it see how it works out for you.
@Lisa….isn’t he cute? Just adorable. He feels so grown with his haircut. Another vote for mohawk.
