Take a trip to the Circus & Cook with Squeeballs on the Nintendo Wii

15 December 2009 No Comment Disclosure

We’ve talked about the Nintendo Wii and a few games that we love to play together from EA already and today we are going to talk some more about a couple other new games to recently hit the market shelves. It’s a Week of Wii @ thedomesticdiva.org!

So let’s get this party started. The two Wii games that I am featuring today are games that are more family driven. While you may be able to play these games by oneself they are better with the more people you have to play. First let’s talk *Squeeballs Party. When I was first approached to try out this game, I didn’t really know if I would like it. It didn’t look as if it would be “my cup of tea”. After the PR company sent me this game, I must admit it was a bit weird at first. Its kind of like one of those games you scratch your head, tilt it to one side, and think…”What?”. I say this in only a good way though because after I started playing it for a bit the Squeeballs actually were kind of cute and hilarious. I loved the bits of animation in between each game. The PR that sent us the game to review also sent along two Squeeball plush toys for the kidlets to play with as well. The Squeeballs Party Wii game has 150+ mini-games & 11 main game challenges so that you can pick up the Wii remote and start playing at a moments notice. I could definitely see playing this game at our next get together. Out of the mini games on Squeeballs Party my favorites were Cooking (as if I dont do enough of this already, but something about making sausage with a Squeeball is just exciting ^_^) and Crazy Lanes. Crazy Lanes is like bowling but with a Squeeball twist. Lots of giggles and laughs have erupted in my living room over this game.

*Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is next on our list sent to us by a separate company to find out what our family thinks about this latest Wii game. The Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey game is Wii Balance Board compatible so if you already have this Wii accessory you can do different activities with it like Walk on the High Wire which requires some good balance I must add. Upon starting up, one gets to design a character then you get to pick which type of games you like to play like Acrobats, Animals, Clowns, High Wire, Stunts, and Trapeze. This game is based around a circus so things that one would normally find at a circus like juggling, walking on a high wire, or hitting clowns with pies are the types of things that one could expect from this game. The kidlets, I think, liked this game because they are big into the circus theme. And I must admit it was fun trying my hand walking on a high wire since I probably won’t ever try that in real life. Surprisingly though I’m better at juggling on the Wii game than I am in real life, as in I can’t do it in real life but I’m pretty good on this video game.

What is your favorite family game to play together?

After finding out that I enjoyed Cooking with Squeeballs Party, I think I’m going to look into getting a cooking specific game like Cooking Mama: Cook Off, Food Network: Cook or be Cooked, or Cooking Mama World Kitchen. Have you played any of these games? Are they worth it? Would you play them?

Disclosure: Squeeballs Party and Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus were given to me for free to review in my own home with my family. While others may have different opinions, this is my own view of these products that do not reflect those of the companies in any way.
