I woke up with a sore throat this morning, I think all the pollen is taking its toll on me although I typically don’t suffer from allergies. Since I was feeling a bit under the weather I decided to get my creative juices flowing today after being inspired from the Sharpie Kick Off Summit I attended yesterday. So this is my official announcement that I am a part of the Sharpie Squad for 2010. I’m really excited to be included with a group of very talented individuals. Sharpies have been a part of my life since I can remember. One of my most memorable use of Sharpies was when I was in school and how I used to doodle on my backpack to pass the time away. Oh what I would give to still have that backpack today.

Being a part of the Sharpie Squad has its perks, one of them being that the folks over a Sharpie sent me a box load of Sharpie goodness. And today, I played with just about all of them. I had no idea Sharpie had so many product and such a beautiful array of colors.

I used to doodle constantly in my younger days but some how lost my drive to sketch but after the Kick Off Summit yesterday, I believe my creative passion has been restored.

Meet the Sharpie Squad for 2010

I’m sure you will be hearing a lot more about Sharpie from me as I explore what it means to be on the Sharpie Squad. With my passion ignited for drawing again, I am finding out new things to “doodle” on.

Today’s photo is one of those things. I found this clipboard laying around the house and thought I would test out my skills a bit and this was the end result…

So, what do you think? I know I’m a little rusty in the art department but I’m sure it is just like riding a bike, the more I get back into it the better I’ll get.

Oh and speaking of things that you can Sharpie. During the Sharpie Summit some of my fellow Sharpie Squad members showed off their artwork and it was simply amazing (so much better than mine). The one that really stood out in my mind was a refrigerator that someone had Sharpie’d I’m talking the entire thing was covered in pure awesomeness and I really wish I could find the photo to show you. People Sharpie all sorts of things from shoes to canvas to even cars! I’m really starting to see that the possibilities are endless. Sharpies are a wonderful tool. I was just talking about them with a friend the other day as we colored Easter eggs with the kids. All the multi colored sharpies would be great for decorating eggs.

@Terry, that is a fabulous idea! We might have to try that out next year. I think Sharpies would be much easier and a more creative way to decorate eggs with than just dying them alone.
