Just last week I was talking about how lovely and warm it was outside. This week is starting out with a different story all together. After several days of rain it is down right cold out there now. I spent the weekend switching out wardrobes from winter to spring/summer and now I’m thinking it might have been a little too early to do this. I had to find some sweaters and jackets to throw on just to wear around the house. It’s frigid.
I can’t wait till it warms back up again. At the first sign of warm weather I was outside tackling gardens (with the help of my Mom) and made this awesome seating area that I just can’t get enough of.
So what used to be under the Cherry Trees? Believe it or not, two HUGE bushes used to take up this space. I thought the bushes were enjoying this space a little too much so I decided to chop them down and make an outdoor seating/lounge area. I’m hoping the Cherry Trees will provide enough shade during the summer months so this space can be a bit of a retreat from the hot, humid weather, but we’ll see in the coming months.
These bushes didn’t go down without a fight though. After chopping most of them down, I had to get help from both my Mom and husband to get the rest of them down. But even though it was a lot of hard work, I love this area. I think it’s current favorite spot in the garden. Now if only the weather would cooperate so I could get back outside and enjoy some sunshine!
