Get into the Holiday Spirit: Bake up some Festive Treats with Wilton (sponsored)
If you ask me, holidays are pretty much in full effect. In just a few short weeks it will be Halloween night when the kidlets and I will be all dressed up ready for a little trick or treat fun. One of my favorite holidays is Halloween. I love all of the dressing up in costumes, watching scary movies with my husband, and the crisp cool fall air this time of year brings.
It doesn’t take much to get into the “spirit” of things. One easy way to get into the Holiday Spirit is to bake up some festive treats. Whether they be slightly scary or fall themed, Wilton has a TON of really cute ideas for whatever theme you might be doing this year from birthdays to holidays. I could spend hours on their website alone looking at all of the ideas for sweet treats themed for different occasions.
I was recently sent a box of goodies from the folks at Wilton so my family and I could try our hand at making some festive treats. As soon as the box arrived the kidlets were excited because they love to help Mommy bake sweet treats. The first thing we made were cupcakes.
Wilton made it easy for us to recreate these adorable cupcakes using their cupcake pan
, themed cupcake liners
, cupcake toppers, and festive sprinkles. After baking up our favorite cupcake recipe in the festive cupcake liners and allowing them to cool completely, we iced them using one of Wilton’s recipes for Buttercream Icing
(very tasty). Along the outside of the cupcakes we simple rolled iced cupcakes on their side in a bowl of Wilton sprinkles to match their cupcake liner then added a cupcake topper. I think this trick gives the cupcakes a very unique look. The next step is to
share with friends
gobble them up :)
The best part is that all of these Wilton products are available at Walmart
. I just can’t decide which was more fun: making the cupcakes or eating them!
