Where I live the temperature has been in the 90’s all week and it doesn’t look to be cooling off anytime soon. It is probably a safe bet to assume that summer is officially upon us. This is the time of year where shorts, skirts, dresses, and capri’s are constant staples in my wardrobe. The only downfall to my spring/summer attire is the constant need to shave. As soon as I shave by the very next day I can feel stubble already starting to make an appearance. So I was wondering to myself, there has got to be a better way. I just don’t have the time to shave my legs every single day.
That is when an email arrived in my inbox about an epilator by Philips called the SatinPerfect. What is an epilator? An epilator is a device that grips and removes hair by the root sort of like what waxing does but not all at once. I’ve pondered the idea of trying an epilator for years. A rep for Philips kindly sent me a SatinPerfect for my first-ever epilator experience.
At first, I was scared. While the device and the various attachments were pretty, the epilator is a noisy little device. After a while I got up the nerve to try it out on a small spot on my leg. Like waxing, it was a bit painful. An epilator is definitely the sort of “beauty tool” that one has to gradually get used to. The pros about the Philips SatinPerfect epilator is that it is a do-it-yourself product. No hassle of finding a salon to get waxed and hair removal lasts for weeks. I also liked the overall design of the product with the cordless & rechargeable options. Also the included pouch is great for storage or packing to take on-the-go. One caution though is that epilators are not great for people that may have some skin problems for example varicose veins, it is best to talk with a doctor before trying an epilator or any other hair removal product.
Have you ever tried an epilator before?
What are your thoughts on using an epilator versus traditional shaving versus waxing? Which do you prefer?
