Protective Gear for Little League

I mentioned earlier in the year that I’m a “baseball mom”. This year was our oldest kidlets first year of playing little league baseball. To say that he loved it would be an understatement. He eats, sleeps, and breathes baseball. There is no doubt about it, baseball is his favorite sport.

After seeing another kidlet get hit in the chest at a practice with a hard baseball, I knew we needed to look into some protective gear for when he is out on the field playing. I didn’t want anything that would make my kidlet stand out in the crowd, just something that would protect him if he were to get hit but that you couldn’t tell he was wearing. Luckily, I was contacted by a company that specializes in making protective gear for youth.

I took a look at SportsGuard’s products and they were exactly what I was looking for! SportsGuard currently makes three protective products: HeadGuard, StealthGuard, and XGrip.

The HeadGuard fits inside of any baseball cap which protects the head. As any baseball Mom knows the kidlets have to wear their baseball caps on the field & when they bat.

The StealthGuard is another must for the kidlet’s baseball uniform. The StealthGuard is a shield that one can place on the inside of a baseball shirt to protect the heart. I like that it is machine washable. I can just place it into his uniform shirt at the beginning of the season and forget about it.

And lastly, the XGrip which is a protective grip for bats. We usually find used bats at thrift stores but sometimes the grips on these bats are a little less than ideal. The XGrip is the perfect product to use to give these old bats a new grip.

So today’s “fashion find” goes to the kidlets that love baseball.

Sports Moms, do you know of any “must-have” products for protecting kidlets while on the field?

Disclosure: SportsGuard sent samples of the HeadGuard, StealthGuard, and XGrip to try out for ourselves. As always, opinions are my own. My experience may differ from your own.
