We only have about 3 weeks before school starts back for the kidlets. We are a homeschooling family but we take lots of field trips through out the year through a local homeschool group and through my kids online school. Whenever we go to various events, we of course like to look our best.
So today we are talking Back-to-School fashions. I have two boys in my household that are pretty easy to please when it comes to their closet. If it is comfortable, “cool looking”, or has a superhero on it they will love it.
Walmart recently announced a new shopping tool just in time for back-to-school. It’s a place on walmart.com where one can go to mix and match apparel items to create “closets”. The Mix & Match Tool on Walmart.com makes back-to-school shopping kind of easy and a little fun too.
Create your own Closet full of Back to School Outfits
First go to the Mix & Match Tool on Walmart.com. There you can either browse other closets or create your own.
When you create your own closet you can choose an age range, the name, and a budget. Now it’s time to start adding items to your closet. At first glance one can see all of the popular brands like Fruit of the Loom, Wrangler, etc. When you find something you like click the “add” button below that item to add it to your closet. Remember when you set a budget? If you look at the top, middle of the screen there is a budget bar and with each item added it calculates how close you are to your total (my favorite feature).
Now that we have several items in our closet it is time to make outfits. By clicking the “make new outfits” button one can arrange the items they had added to the closet into various outfits. This is a great visual tool to help one see the final look.
There is also the option to print your closet. This will print out a simple shopping list of the items you added to your closet so you can to take it with you to your local Walmart store to try to find the items in-store.
Stay within your Budget & Print List for Shopping in-store
Lastly you can share your closet with your friends through popular social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, & Pinterest. You can also “get inspired” by browsing other peoples shared closets as well.
Share your Saved Closet with Friends through Social Networks
I’m a visual person so I personally enjoyed using the Mix & Match Tool on Walmart.com. The ability to add items to your closet and track your budget at the same time is what I liked the most.
How do you feel about Back-to-School shopping? Love it? Hate it?
Disclosure: I am a Walmart Mom. I have been compensated for my time and efforts in creating this post as well as given a giftcard to purchase some of the items I liked in my “closet”. As always my participation is voluntary and opinions are my own. My experience may differ from your own.
