Even though school starts back for my kidlets in less than a week doesn’t necessarily mean that summer is over….just yet. There are still a few more weeks to enjoy the sun before the weather starts to change.
When it comes to protecting my skin from the sun, I’m big on sunscreen. One too many sunburns in my life has gotten me to think twice before going out in the sun without some sort of protection. Walmart gave me the opportunity to try out some of Hawaiian Tropics newest products.
Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration has an Broad Spectrum SPF 12 plus moisturizers. Unlike typical sunscreens, this felt like I was just applying a lotion. It absorbed quickly into my skin and didn’t feel greasy afterwards. This would be a great everyday sun protectant/moisturizing lotion.
Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect- Broad Spectrum SPF 8 Lotion Sunscreen with mica minerals. This sunscreen while it doesn’t have a high SPF (although it does come in higher SPF ranges 20 & 40) it does contain something unique called micro-minerals. These mica minerals are tiny shimmering specs that “highlight your skin tone”. I prefer not to add extra shine to my face so I would only apply this product to my legs and arms.
Unlike the Shimmer Effect Lotion Sunscreen, Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect- After Sun Moisturizer with mica minerals is made to use after you’ve been in the sun. I don’t know about you but after a day spent at the beach there is no better feeling than jumping in the shower to wash away the day and then applying my favorite moisturizer. I like the shimmering mica minerals but would only apply it to my arms and legs just to add a hint of shimmer. This isn’t a product that I would use everyday but rather something different to use while on vacation at the beach.
One thing that all of these Hawaiian Tropic products have in common is that they smell great! While I do like to wear sunscreen in the sun whenever possible I don’t like to smell of “sunscreen”. So I’m glad that Hawaiian Tropic products doesn’t have the typical sunscreen smell to them.
Lastly, Hawaiian Tropic Aloha Kiss moisturizing lip gloss with 20 SPF in island berry was my absolute favorite Hawaiian Tropic product that I tried. Being a lip gloss girl, I’ve tried tons of lip glosses over the years and when you come across a good lip gloss you just know. Unlike other lip glosses this gloss doesn’t feel sticky. My lips feel moisturized when I wear it. I also LOVED that it actually has a hint of flavor to it. Not only does it smell good but it also sweet taste as well. This is definitely a welcomed change as the majority of lip glosses I’ve tried have had no flavor at all.
What are some of your favorite Summer Beauty products?
