Make-Up Must Have: Cosmetic Brushes

10 September 2012 No Comment Disclosure

Today we are talking about a beauty tool that is often over looked. This is a beauty must-have that every diva should have in their makeup collection. What is it? Cosmetic Brushes! No matter the brand, cosmetic brushes are a great investment for a makeup collection.

There are several reasons why I love cosmetic brushes so much and why I’ll never go back to the brushes and applicators that come with certain beauty products. If you think about it, a cosmetic brush is a tool that one could quite possibly use every single day (it depends on how often you apply makeup). Most often its the first tool you use in the morning when you apply your makeup. So why are cosmetic brushes a must? Unlike the applicators that often come with cosmetic products, a good cosmetic brush allows so much more control. They are, in my opinion, a lot easier to use than those small applicators especially for eye makeup.

What kind of makeup brushes do you like? While I do have a decent collection of makeup application brushes, there are only 5 in my collection that I consider my must-haves. Without these 5 brushes I’m pretty much lost when it comes to applying my makeup. My top five makeup application brushes are:

  • Large Fluffy Blush Brush
  • Large Eyeshadow Brush
  • Medium Eyeshadow Brush
  • Small Eyeshadow Brush
  • Eyebrow Brush

It’s important when looking for makeup application brushes to add to your makeup collection that the brushes are well made. You don’t want bristles falling out as this does not make for a pretty finished makeup look. Also taking good care of your brushes and cleaning them regularly will help them last you a long time.

I don’t normally carry my makeup brushes with me. I do have a cosmetic bag in my purse but I don’t really have a “safe” way to carry my makeup brushes with me as well. However, whenever I travel I always figure out a way to bring my favorite makeup brushes along with me. I can’t imagine taking a trip somewhere and not using my makeup brushes when I apply my makeup.

EcoTools 6-Piece Brush Set Includes: Blush Brush, Eye Shading Brush, Eyeliner Brush, Lash and Brow Groomer, Concealer Brush, & Cosmetic Bag

I was given the opportunity to try out a set of brushes by EcoTools. I’ve heard of the brand EcoTools before but have never tried their products. EcoTools makes a simple 6-Piece Brush Set that is a great starter set for brushes. As soon as I pulled them out of the package, I was surprised at how incredibly soft they were especially the blush brush. They feel like something that I definitely would want to use everyday. The EcoTools 6-piece brush set comes with 5 brushes and a carrying pouch to not only hold your brushes but also a couple of your favorite products as well when you are on the go. I’m definitely going to take these brushes with me the next time I travel, they may even get a permanent spot in my purse.

The best way to show off these brushes and what they can do is in the following video by EcoTools for a 5-minute Jewel Toned-Eye Look, you guys know I love to play up my eyes so this tutorial is right up my alley. I’m definitely going to be rockin’ this look for Fall:
