DIY: Chalkboard Bookcase

18 September 2012 No Comment Disclosure

I’m amazed what a little effort and some paint can accomplish. This week’s DIY project is tackling another old piece of furniture in my home office. The goal is to transform this piece of furniture into a fresh, new looking piece that is also uniquely functional.

This week we transformed an old bookcase into a bookcase that matches my computer desk using chalkboard paint. I told ya’ll I wasn’t done with the chalkboard transformations :) Like before I applied two coats of chalkboard paint. The difference is amazing!

I placed this bookcase right behind my desk up against a wall where it is easily accessible. And like my desk I can also write on the bookcase as well. The matte black finish of both my desk and now bookcase has really grown on me. It’s a wonderful change that I think just adds to my home office. It’s nice to have furniture now that is not only functional but works together so nicely. I don’t think others will guess that these pieces of furniture are thrifted finds.
