Wow! I can’t believe how fast the time is just flown by. Can you believe that Christmas is almost here? In a few short weeks we will be celebrating with our family and friends.

Today’s post is just a reminder for those of you that put gifts on layaway at Walmart this year. The deadline for paying off and picking up those items is quickly approaching, December 14th. So, don’t forget!

Since there is still some more time between picking up gifts from layaway and Christmas morning, my question is what do you do with the gifts until it’s time to open them? Last year I thought I had found a good hiding place in our house until one day a package arrived and my youngest kidlet said to me “Mommy, you can just put that box in the closet with all of the other boxes!”. Yeah, it was time to rethink my gift hiding spot.

This year, one reason why we used Layaway at Walmart was because the family gift is large so we needed a way to hide it from the kidlets. We decided to get a basketball goal for all of us to enjoy, especially the kidlets and I as we do PE for homeschool (I think it will be fun shooting hoops with the boys). As you can imagine, now that our family gift is out of layaway I need to find a new place to stash it before Christmas morning and the closet idea isn’t going to work. Thankfully the basement, so far, has been the perfect hiding place.

How do you hide the gifts from the kidlets before Christmas morning? Any tips or tricks you could share?
