We live in a state that has very mild winters. It may be in the 30’s only a handful of days the entire winter so the need for a very heavy, snow coat isn’t necessary. We, on the other hand, love slightly heavy jackets to bundle up with when the temperature does start to drop.
Walmart recently sent a sampling of outerwear for the boys and I to try out, and since we recently started seeing slightly cooler temperatures thanks to a couple rainy days now was the perfect time to try them out. I have to say that I’m a little jealous of my little guys new hoodie, it is SO SOFT! The inside is lined with sherpa for extra warmth and coziness. You won’t believe the price on these stylish, camo hoodies. Right now online these Faded Glory Boys Sherpa Lined Hoodies are only $10!!!! If these Women’s Sherpa Hoodies are just as soft as my youngest kidlet’s hoodie, my eye is on that jumbo leopard print one to add to my wardrobe.
My oldest son got to try out the Faded Glory Boys Bubble Jacket ($17.97). This is definitely a cold weather jacket for us. This type of jacket is something we would use when the temperature gets close to freezing. It is fleece lined and the puffy outer shell helps to block the wind. I also like the addition of the hood so he doesn’t have to worry about wearing a hat when we brave the cold.
The last outerwear we tried out was actually something for us, Moms. The Danskin Now Women’s Sport Fleece Jacket ($13.96) is very light weight and perfect for those slightly cooler days. It is also very thin and not bulky at all so it would be great to wear as a under layer with a heavier coat over top. This light weight jacket is also super soft and has an almost fur like texture to it. I’ve also washed this jacket several times now and so far it has held up well and looks like the day I received it.
What is the weather like where you live? What is your favorite style of outerwear for you or the kids?
