First Day of (Home)School
Sharpened pencils and shiny, new books….It’s here, the first day of school! As a “homeschool mom” I feel like I’m going back to school as much as the kidlets are. We’ve got a lot of adjusting to do as we embrace our new daily schedule. The first few weeks are always the hardest as we try to find our rhythm.
This year, my boys are in first and third grade. Do I really have a third grader now? Wow! Instead of sharing traditional “first day of school” pics today, I thought I would show a glimpse into our day instead. But don’t worry, I’ll take a few “back to school” pics of the boys before the weeks end, I’m sure.
Little brother was distracting Older brother from concentrating on his multiplication facts in math. Since it’s easiest when everyone is in the same room together, we improvised and the oldest kidlet borrowed the Flips headphones to drown out the chatter. I’m thinking I probably should have added headphones to the boy’s back to school supply list. All in all it was a productive day. And we got a lot more accomplished than I thought we would. I love how excited and eager they are to dive right into their studies on the first day.
