While the first day of Fall may not be until September 22nd, we can’t help but get excited about all of the fun aspects of fall like watching our favorite football teams play each other! We have a bit of a rival in our household as my husband and I like two totally different football teams. While he gets to cheer for the “home” team fairly often, my favorite isn’t local so I only get to see their games a handful of times throughout the year with the most exciting games being when my team competes against my husbands! A couple weeks ago we had one of these games. It was an exciting game that is for sure!
When it comes to supporting my favorite team, I love to dress up in my favorite team’s colors from head to nails. So I thought I would share how I painted my nails for the “big game” between mine and my husband’s favorite teams.
- Sally Hansen Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat
- Essie- Licorice
- Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure- 110 Wedding Glitters
- Sally Hansen Crackle Topcoat- Black
If you haven’t guess by the black and gold, I’m a Saints fan! So naturally I went for my team’s color when choosing these nail colors but you could easily recreate a similar look using your teams colors as well. First, I swept two coats of Essie- Licorice on all of my nails except for my accent nails. I had two accent nails, my ring finger on my left hand and my pointer finger on my right hand. For these accent nails I applied two coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure- Wedding Glitters (I love this old gold color, I think it’s a great match for my favorite team’s color). After each coat was dried, I then sealed it all with a coat of Sally Hansen Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat. On my accent nails, I added just a bit more fun to them by applying the Sally Hansen Crackle Topcoat in Black.
I love the way that this “team inspired” manicure turned out. It was simple and easy to apply while complimenting my outfit perfectly.
