Earlier this week, I shared with ya’ll what our halloween costumes will be this year as well as a Halloween Rag Wreath, a fun craft to get you ready for Halloween. Today, I’m sharing some easy halloween decorations that I found at Walmart as a blogger for the Walmart Moms and how to put it all together for an inexpensive, festive look.
So with the gift card provided I went to my local Walmart to see what I could find. Like our halloween costumes, I wanted to have an general theme to our decorations so I chose to focus on “bats” for our overall look.
- Bat Fleece Throw- $2.88
- Bat Trick or Treat Bucket- $1.00
- 3 Qt. Purple Mum- $3.98
- 2 Foam Bat Cut-outs- $3.97 each
- Skeleton Door Cover- $.97
- Gel Window Clings- $1.47
One of the first decorations I found at Walmart, were these inexpensive window gel clings. I was delighted to find that they had a bat themed sheet. I knew these would look great on our kitchen window, right between the curtains so when the light shown through during the day they would look as if they were lit up. I also found some festive, bat garland to go around the window for an added little detail.
Next, it was onto some door decor. I found these really great door covers in a variety of different scenes. I was naturally drawn to the skeleton one because I love skullies but it also has bats in the background so it tied into our theme nicely. We secured the door cover with some tape to a glass door so that at night when light shines through it, it will also look like it is glowing as well. For less than a dollar this is an inexpensive, easy halloween decoration that can really transform the look of a space.
This old, white table I use frequently outside for decorating but it was looking a bit bare. After I found some decorations that I kept from last year, the freaky fabric and glitter pumpkin, it was still missing something “welcoming” for the trick or treaters. So, I found a beautiful, purple mum at Walmart for $3.98 that I put inside a $1.00 trick or treat bucket. Of course, the bucket has bats on it and the mum is purple which is also a part of our theme. This bucket could also make a great treat bucket for those that hand out candy or kids to take with them trick or treating.
I thought this bat-themed, fleece throw was so cute! I knew just what I wanted to do with it. For a while now, I have missed our wicker seating in this space (I had moved it to the backyard during the summer), so I decided to bring it back and use the fleece throw to cover up the cushion on the wicker sofa. It was really simple, all I did was wrap it around the cushion making sure the excess flaps of fabric were on the bottom. No sewing required and it instantly gives one’s seating a festive, holiday look! Some of you may remember I did this for one of my favorite Halloween display we did several years ago. Did I mention these fleece throws are affordable? At $2.88 these throws are like the one’s I mentioned in our local sports post but are decorated with a halloween pattern.
And lastly, my favorite halloween decoration of all!!! When browsing the halloween decorations at Walmart, I came across these foam, bat shaped cut-outs. As soon as I saw them, I knew immediately what I wanted to do with them…create a bat swarm! Each pack contains 30 cut out shapes (9 of them are already glittered for you). So I grabbed two packs. I wanted to give the feeling as if the bats were swarming from around the side of the house, over the door towards the center light. All I used was some Scotch tape that I rolled and stuck on the back of each bat and stuck them randomly in a whispy line. They even trail onto the ceiling just a bit. The foam, bat swarm adds such a fun element to our overall halloween decorations.
Like I mentioned before, all of these new Halloween decorations came from Walmart and were less than $25!!! For some more Halloween ideas follow Walmart on Pinterest or check out more decor and costumes on walmart.com.
