Valentine’s Day is only a few short days away. I’ve recently started thinking of what I’m going to wear to celebrate the day of Love. I love to dress up for any occasion but especially on Valentine’s Day. Typically we think of a lot of reds and pinks for Valentine’s Day. But this year I wanted to do something a little bit different. Something with just a hint of pink especially on my nails.
The two colors I decided to paint on my nails this week are Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in 635 Bittersweet and Nicole by OPI in Inner Sparkle. I also used one of my favorite fast drying top coats, Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Fast Dry Top Coat, since I was in a bit of rush to get my nails done and move onto other tasks.
To get the look I first applied two coats of Bittersweet on all of my nails allowing each nail to dry thoroughly. Then it was onto adding my signature sparkle onto my accents nails, my ring finger and thumb. I did not sweep Inner Sparkle all over the nail however I just applied it to the tips of my nails to give an ombre type effect. I sealed everything with a top coat once all of the coats were dry.
I love this look. It’s very classic. Bittersweet is a brown, grey, almost eggplant purple kind of color and goes with many different Valentine’s Day outfit choices I have picked out. The Inner Sparkle color is the perfect pale pink glitter to compliment the all over color and gives a bit of uniqueness to the nails. This manicure isn’t the typical “pink” that one would associate with Valentine’s Day but it works well. It reminds me a bit of chocolate dipped strawberries….yum!
