I absolutely love Dr. Seuss. I’ve loved Dr. Seuss since I was a kid. And now as a Mom, I’m sharing my love of Dr. Seuss with my boys. Anytime we sit down to read a Dr. Seuss book or watch a movie based off the books we know it’s going to be good. What’s not to love about Dr. Seuss? One year, my kidlets and I even dressed up in DIY Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 & Thing 2 costumes. We love “The Lorax” and “The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!” is still one of my boys favorite PBS shows at our house.

Have you heard of Read Across America? Read Across America is nationally recognized each year in schools across the country. This year’s official celebration date is March 3, 2014! Many schools will be participating this year to help promote literacy and get kids excited about reading. As a homeschooling Mom, I’m always on the lookout for activities and ways to get my kids excited about learning.

We have a small collection of beloved Dr. Seuss books in our own personal collection but there are many more out there that we haven’t even read yet! To help celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday (March 2nd) and Read Across America, Walmart stores will be having a special promotion in their stores on Dr. Seuss books to add to your collection. These deals will include Dr. Seuss board books for $3.50 (reg. $4.99) and Dr. Seuss beginner books for $5 (reg. 8.99) for great savings on classic children’s books.

Speaking of Dr. Seuss book’s I’ve never read before, as a part of the Walmart Moms I was sent the book “Happy Birthday to You” by Dr. Seuss for my boys and I to read. This is such a cute, fun book to read. My youngest absolutely loved it and even requested that we read it on his birthday too! A great book to read on birthdays and a classic for an at-home library for sure.

For more ways to celebrate Dr. Seuss, check out Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Club for Dr. Seuss themed birthday activities, Dr. Seuss birthday book of the month, e-cards, and more! Also, check out the Dr. Seuss books at your local Walmart, maybe there is one there you haven’t read yet.

What is your favorite Dr. Seuss book, if you had to choose just one?
