My Favorite Hot Weather Indulgences: Natural Vanilla Ice Cream & Gelato

(product provided)

I mentioned not too long ago how a sweet treat can stir up memories from the past. With it being the middle of summer, cold treats are always on everyone list….right? Some of my favorite cold treats are from my childhood and have wonderful memories attached to them. Others are newly discovered favorites that has made me rethink the way that I look at ice cream.

The Best Way to DIY Oreo Ice Cream

Let’s start with my childhood favorite. This is an ice cream favorite that I picked up from my mother. It has to be done THIS way or it isn’t the same. My Mom loves Breyer’s Natural Vanilla ice cream and so do I. Once you’ve tasted it, you’d know why it would quickly become anyone’s favorites. We both especially love the vanilla bean specks in the pure white ice cream. This vanilla ice cream doesn’t taste like any other vanilla ice cream on the market. I believe the tiny vanilla specks are what do it, but even if you compare Breyer’s Natural Vanilla with their Homemade Vanilla you can taste a difference. Both are good vanilla’s, it’s just that I prefer natural vanilla the most! So when I was little my Mom would take her favorite vanilla ice cream, Breyer’s Natural Vanilla, and add it to a bowl with crushed Oreo Cookies. This combination to me is an ultimate favorite. Yes, there are “Oreo icecreams” on the market but there is just something about mixing your own. The sweet perfect flavor of Breyer’s Natural Vanilla pairs so well with the crunchiness of Oreo cookie to make a bowl full of heaven. I honestly could go for a bowl of this deliciousness right now….yum!

Breyers Gelato Indulgences Review

Now onto a newly discovered favorite. Gelato. Have you heard of this? It seems to be a big name in “ice cream” and a buzz at the local stores. But what is it? and How is it different from traditional ice cream? Gelato is like a “step up” than traditional ice cream. It has a different kind of smoothness and richness to it. It’s like a fancier dessert meant to be savored. One taste and you’ll say “oh so that is gelato”. Breyer’s Gelato has all of that creamy goodness in the perfect container to share with a friend. They have many different flavors, two of which I’ve tried out recently thanks to the coupons that I was sent, they were Tiramisu and Triple Chocolate. I love the coffee flavors incorporated into the Tiramisu, the ladyfinger cookie pieces are what keeps me coming back to this gelato. But newest favorite is the Triple Chocolate. Let me tell you if you are craving chocolate and looking for something chocolate and delicious, Breyer’s Gelato Indulgences in Triple Chocolate is great for a chocolate lover. Did I mention the word “chocolate” enough in that last sentence? Now that I’ve shared with you all some of my favorite hot weather indulgences, what are some of yours?

Breyers Gelato Indulgences

Am I the only one that prefers to eat ice cream out of a coffee cup?

Disclosure: I was gifted with free product coupons to try out a couple of Breyer’s products for myself. As always, opinions are my own.

When my family lived in New Orleans, one of my favorite childhood memories was going to the ice cream shop and getting Butter Pecan on a waffle cone. I don’t get ice cream too often now, but it’s usually from Emack and Bolio.

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always preferred ice cream with some kind of “add-ins”. I love to make different combinations with different flavors. It’s fun and tasty! Oh, and I will eat ice cream out of anything that will hold it without making a mess. hahaa!

I love eating ice cream out of a coffee cup. I like when it melts a little and you can scoop up the melted with the still frozen. Sometimes, I add vanilla ice cream to a coffee cup and mix in Chocolate Malt Ovaltine. I just wrote about the Tiramisu gelato from Breyers…I will have to try the triple chocolate one out now – looks good.
