Back to School Tech Tote: Homeschool on the Go!

Back to School necessities are different for Homeschoolers. When one thinks of Back to School immediately what comes to mind is fashion, shoes, and supplies. I’ve found that some of our must-have back to school necessities over the years have been mostly been accessories on our list. Since my boys don’t have to follow a dress code for school they tend to wear whatever is comfortable from their closets (and yes some days that includes pajamas). When it comes to accessories, my boys each have backpacks that they carry their own schoolbooks or assignments in. Walmart has a great, affordable selection of backpacks to choose from that have lasted us many years. But in this day and age, technology is more and more prevalent in school work especially for us as we homeschool through an online school. Our connection to our computer is a daily must whether we are at home or taking a field trip.

Back to School: Functional Style for the Homeschool Mom

On a recent trip to Bentonville, Arkansas which is where the Headquarters for Walmart is located, as a part of the Walmart Moms I was able to sit down with the apparel team and get a sneak peek of all of the back to school fashion. I loved everything that I saw but there was one item in particular that really stood out to me that I knew other homeschool mama’s would love as well. Do you think it is possible to have both a stylish yet tech-friendly tote bag? Great news, there is and because it is available at Walmart you know that it is budget-friendly! Whenever we decide to homeschool away from home there are many necessities that I need to take with me in order to make sure that my boys complete their daily school work plans. One of those necessities is a computer. My boys will typically pack their backpacks with their books that they need but when it comes to our laptop I’m often the one left wondering how to carry it. Since they are still a little, I don’t want to weigh down their backpack with a heavy laptop. Which is where this fantastic tech tote comes in. The George Classic Work Tote for $19.88 is not only sleek and stylish but it is also roomy enough to hold a lot of supplies. It looks like a purse yet you are able to carry so much more in it. I loved that it has a laptop sleeve built into it. My laptop is about an inch too wide so it wasn’t able to fit in the actual laptop sleeve but that pocket is perfect for my iPad which the boys enjoy playing educational games on when I’m driving to our destination. I was, however, able to easily fit my laptop in one of the main compartments and the other large compartment is perfect for holding writing assignments and my laptop charger. There is a center zipper pocket that is great for storing my wallet and other must-have items from my purse. The side of the bag has a place for my smartphone and another zipper pocket to hold pens, flash drives, and earbuds. On the front of the bag there is another pocket with 3 slots that can also hold other small important papers like an agenda as well as other homeschool necessities like crayons, markers, etc.

Tech Tote for Back to School

Other homechooling mama’s out there know how much planning goes into a single school day. This tech tote is great for keeping everything that we need in a single bag that we can quickly grab and go! Because this tote easily allows me to carry my laptop with me, I’m able to log into our online school, check off our to-do’s for the day, pull up lesson plans, and have the boys complete their tests whether we are at home or on the go. Whether it’s a trip to the park or just changing what room we are going to homeschool in for that day, I can not tell you how much easier it is to have everything you need in one easy, compact tote.

Tech Tote for Back to College

This tech tote isn’t just for homeschooling mom’s though, when I was in college I didn’t like lugging around a bulky bookbag. Many times I would just carry my purse and whatever books I needed for class that day. I think this tech tote would also be great for college students as well. This tech tote not only looks better than a traditional laptop bag but it also can hold a lot more yet can still carry your purse necessities as well. To me, carrying just one bag makes it a lot easier to get to that 8 o’clock class on time than trying to juggle books, a laptop bag, and a purse.

How do you carry all of your homeschool necessities?
