Can you believe that it is almost the official first day of Fall? I’m so excited to transition into the cooler months of the year. As a part of the Walmart Moms, I was asked to share how I transition my makeup from summer to fall. So in this post I’ll share with you 8 ways to update your makeup bag for the fall season using products that can be found at Walmart.
Ditch the BB cream for the fuller coverage of a foundation
Summer is all about keeping our makeup as light possible but as Fall begins to cool the temperature down its time to change our foundation routine to a little more coverage. The COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation is a great option as it has 3 benefits in one easy step: primer (to make it last all day), concealer (for coverage), and foundation (to blend in seamlessly).
Switch shimmer for matte when it comes to contouring and highlighting
Contouring and highlighting makes a world of difference in your overall makeup look as it adds just the right amount of dimension to the face. This is especially important if you are using a full coverage foundation. When looking for a good contour shade you want to stick with something that doesn’t have any shimmer in it. Not only is the Wet n Wild Color Icon Contouring Palette matte but it also comes with a matte hightlighting shade as well. When choosing the right contour shade for you, go for a shade that is about 2-3 shades darker than you natural skin tone.
Keep Blush Subtle with Rose shades instead of Bright Pinks
Not only are Milani Baked Blush gorgeous to look at but this blush also has great pigment. One only needs a little dusting onto the cheeks between their highlight and contour shade. My favorite shade for fall is the Milani Rose Baked Blush in Romantic Rose.
For eye shadows, embrace deep, rich earth tones and leave the pastels for Summer
Ditch the Falsies, For Fuller Looking Lashes try a 2-step Mascara on Upper Lashes
Mascaras with a primer plus mascara are a great way to fake that false lash look. L’oreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara is a new 2-step mascara that offers volume and length for lashes.
Lips look on trend in mauve, berry, or deep burgundy shades without a lot of shine in a matte or semi-matte finish
Everyone is going crazy for those mauve and deep berry/burgundy shades for fall. When choosing a lip color for fall, think darker. Also, skip the glossy and shimmery shades. Instead you want either matte or a semi-matte finish. A great example of this is L’oreal Colour Riche in shade 560 Saucy Mauve.
Finish strong with Shaped brows
Brows on fleek? Brows are what pulls your entire look together. They are the framing for your eyes so it’s important that they look their best. To fill in sparse areas and define their shape use a brow pencil and comb combo like Wet N Wild Coloricon Brow Pencil. This is a great brow pencil and an incredibly budget friendly price.
Nails look polished in rich, jewel tones
Last but not least, don’t forget to update your manicure and pedicure with beautiful, rich, jewel tones like this shade called You Goji (1502) by Sinful Colors.
Bonus Tip: Keep your makeup in place all day by using a Setting Spray.
L’oreal Infallible Pro-Spray-Set has been my favorite setting spray since the moment I first tried it. On my trip to my local Walmart store, I found a small, travel size. Not only will this be great for me when I travel, so I won’t have to be without my favorite setting spray but it would also be good for those that want to try out this setting spray first before purchasing the bigger one.
