Halloween is my favorite time of year. I love the decorating and the celebrating. Today as a part of the Walmart Moms, I am sharing with you some ways that you can decorate your home on a budget using products that can be found at Walmart. Walmart carries a wide variety of Halloween Decor for both inside and outside your home. So much so that it can often be overwhelming with trying to pick and choose what to add to your collection. I like to stick with a general theme when it comes to decorating my home. This year I choose a black, white, and gold theme. I also opted to switch it up a little bit this year by decorating indoors instead of outdoors. Not only is decorating inside your home great for when you have guests over but my family seems to really like seeing the Halloween decor displayed in their everyday space.

Halloween Black, White, and Gold Home Decor on a Budget: How to decorate White Pumpkins

Halloween Black, White, and Gold Home Decor on a Budget: How to decorate White Pumpkins

I wanted the main focus of the black, white, and gold themed Halloween decor to be white pumpkins. Don’t get me wrong, regular orange pumpkins are great (to eat) but there is just something so elegant and unique about white pumpkins. I was happy to find Walmart carried fresh white pumpkins ($3.98 each). I opted to give them a bit of a modern twist, and tie them into our theme by painting them using Plaid FolkArt Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint in Black and Gold ($2.98). Sure one could use glue and glitter but I like the ease of use of this paint. I’ve used it for various other craft projects before and I like the effect that it gives without all of the mess of a bottle of glitter. The two designs I chose to paint onto the pumpkins were dots and stripes. Pretty easy, right? I did not use a guide at all but rather decided to free-hand paint the glitter onto the pumpkins. For the stripes I followed the naturally lines found on the pumpkin alternating between gold and black glitter. For the dots I just painted circles using the Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint in various sizes all over the pumpkin alternating colors. I applied two coats of paint to my designs on my pumpkins so that it would have a big glitter effect.

Next, a little decor for our coffee table. This space is the center of our living room and I knew it needed a little Halloween touch so I found some creepy fabric to drape across it. We usually keep our remotes in a wooden box on our coffee table so instead of using that I opted to switch it out for this plastic tray ($2.50) that has a great scrolled design along the edge of it. A skull that I saved from last year’s Halloween decor (which can still be purchased at Walmart) just ties the entire look together.

Last but not least, I came across these adorable bats. How fun! I love decorating with bats during Halloween and especially love to make what looks like a swarm of them go up or across a wall. I love that Walmart sells these bats pre-cut ($3.97) so all I have to do is apply a little tape and stick them where I want. This year I opted to put them across one of the walls in our living room as it makes for watching scary movies at night just a little bit creepier.

Of course, today I am just sharing a few ways that one can decorate their home for Halloween using products found at Walmart. Do you stick to a theme when you decorate for Halloween? For more ideas, check out the Halloween decor section at your local Walmart store.

Even though we are past Halloween, I’m sure that you could use the same colors for other decorations. The three colors go together quite nicely, so you could do other things like pillows or drapes. If you really wanted to, you could still keep the spooky stuff.
