I love any holiday that gives me the excuse to play with makeup. That is one of my favorite aspects of Halloween, dressing up. While it is fun to dress up in costumes it is just as easy to pull together a Halloween outfit using just a little bit of makeup and clothes you may already have in your closet. As a part of the Walmart Moms, today I will be showing you how to look the part this Halloween with an easy DIY Scarecrow Makeup Tutorial using everyday makeup products that can be found at Walmart.
- For this look, I used the following products which I found at my local Walmart store:
- L’oreal Voluminous Superstar Liquid Eyeliner in Black
- Pure Ice nail polish in Feisty
- Salon Perfect Perfectly Glamorous false eyelashes in 28 Black
- Wet N Wild lipstick in 907C Mauve Outta Here
- Wet N Wild Blush in 832E Heather Silk
- Hard Candy Sassy Eyes Eyeshadow Palette
- Milani Bella Eyes Eyeshadow in Bella Ivory
- Maybelline Colossal Chaotic Lash Volum’ Express mascara in black
- L’Oreal Paris Extra Volume Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara
- To complete the look you’ll also need:
- Faded Glory Black and White Plaid Tunic- $13.94
- Offray pink ribbon (7/8 in. wide)
How to get this makeup look:
I first started by priming my skin using my everyday foundation and powder. After my skin was prepped, I began this makeup look by curling my eyelashes and applying some eyeshadow primer from the Hard Candy Sassy Eyes Eyeshadow Palette all over my lids. To set the eyeshadow primer, I dusted a thin layer of Milani Bella Eyes Eyeshadow in Bella Ivory all over my lids with an eyeshadow brush. Taking the grey, matte shadow from the same Hard Candy eyeshadow palette and a big fluffy brush I dusted that color only into the crease of my eyes to give them a bit of definition.
After applying shadow, using the black eyeliner pencil in the Hard Candy eyeshadow palette I lined only my upper lash line. I wanted to apply the eyeliner as close to the lash line as possible so that there would be no visible skin line between my natural lashes and the false lashes that I will be applying. Then I applied a coat of L’Oreal Paris Extra Volume Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara in Black on my upper lashes and Maybelline Colossal Chaotic Lash Volum’ Express mascara in black on my lower lashes. Once my mascara had dried, I then applied Salon Perfect Perfectly Glamorous false lashes to make my eyes stand out. To conceal the lash band on the false lashes, I used the L’oreal Voluminous Superstar Liquid Eyeliner in Black , applying it as close to the band of the false lashes as possible on my upper lashes only.
DIY Halloween Scarecrow Makeup using beauty products from Walmart
To get that scarecrow look, I took that same L’oreal Voluminous Superstar liquid eyeliner in black and drew a square on my forehead, a triangle on my nose, another square on my chin, and a line of stitches on my neck. I then filled in the shapes using the two light brown, shimmery eye shadow shades from the Hard Candy Sassy Eyes eyeshadow palette. I applied Wet n Wild’s Mauve Outta Here lipstick to my lips and used the L’oreal liquid eyeliner again to draw lines from the corner of my mouth in an upward smiling shape. With my finger I took the same two light brown, shimmering shadows from the Hard Candy eyeshadow palette that I used to fill in the shapes of the scarecrow face and patted it onto my upper lip only. With a small liner brush I took that same matte, grey shadow that we used from the palette for the crease of our eyes and used it to connect the lines from the corner of my mouth to underneath my bottom lip. This acts as a shadow and gives a more finished look.
To finish off the makeup, I then took a big fluffy blush brush and dusted the very pigmented blush by Wet N Wild in Heather Silk onto the apples of my check. I also took a small eyeshadow brush and applied a bit of the blush to the shapes on my nose, forehead, and chin as well but did not fill in the shapes completely. Lastly to finish the scarecrow look I drew dashed lines through the lines of the shapes using the L’oreal liquid eyeliner. I opted to draw 2 dashes onto every line so that everything stayed even.
How to finish the Look: Nails, Hair, and Outfit
Of course, I can’t have bare nails on Halloween night. So I thought it would be fun to paint my nails with a pink nail color that matches the rest of my Halloween makeup look so I picked up the Pure Ice nail color, which is only available at Walmart. I applied two coats of the color Feisty by Pure Ice and then topped it with a gel topcoat to protect my manicure from chipping so I can enjoy my manicure for a few days after the Halloween festivities are over.
Lastly, I paired this Halloween makeup look with two braids on either side of my head. At the bottom of each braid I tied a simple pink ribbon. I found this ribbon at Walmart in the craft section, and all I did was measure and cut it to the length that I wanted. I then put on a comfy flannel shirt by Faded Glory, which was the inspiration for this easy DIY Halloween Costume, with a pair of basic black seamless leggings and I’m all set for a night of Trick or Treating with my boys.
