The weather has been dreary, wet, and cold the last few days. Weather like this just reminds me how close we are to winter. The bitter cold is going to be here soon whether we like it or not. With winter fast approaching I know that the endless battle with dry skin is about to begin as we start to stay inside more with the heat on blast. While I enjoy the cooler weather immensely with the cozy wardrobe and cuddles under warm blankets, I don’t like the thought of dry skin though. One way that I have found to fight dry skin is by exfoliating often.

Place each ingredient into a bowl and stir until combined. Transfer the mixture to a container with an air tight seal. I like to use small mason jars a lot for cooking and projects around the house, there are endless uses for these adorable little containers. When it comes time to using the coconut coffee body scrub, simple scoop out a small amount into your hand and rub gently over the area you would like to exfoliate. Rinse the mixture off completely and pat dry with a towel. The end result is soft and smooth skin.
I love the way that my skin feels after I use this coconut coffee body scrub. It feels hydrated from the coconut oil and smooth thanks to the sugar and coffee mixture. Winter may be on its way but I hope to be prepared to fight dry skin with recipes like this that are perfect for a relaxing spa night at home.

If it is hard to mix, yes I would think that you can melt the coconut oil in order to make it easier to mix with the other ingredients.
How should this be stored? Kept chilled in the fridge or out at room temperature?
I have never used body scrubs be for, are you supposed to use the scrub first and then wash with soap or the other way around?
