Eeeep! Only 5 days left until Christmas. Are you ready? This time of year we are all spending as much time as we can with family and friends. When it comes to visiting those that we love the most, we often want to look our best because chances are there will be lots of pictures taken to remember these fun times. Whether you are putting together outfits for a holiday party or a visit to see Santa, putting together that perfect outfit shouldn’t be complicated nor should it break your budget.
As a part of the Walmart Moms, today I am sharing with you how I get my kids ready for the holiday festivities. When it comes to getting dressed for a holiday event, we always like to keep it stylish but also comfortable. Unless the event we are going to calls for a tie, we like to keep our outfits simple. I have two boys that are at that age now where they don’t really want to be dressing like each other but I still want them to somewhat match when it comes to taking holiday photos. So instead of picking the same shirt for each of them, I opted to keep within the same color palette. Since it is the holidays I opted to find new shirts for my boys at Walmart.
For my oldest, who is quickly approaching his teens, I opted for a half-zip sweater with a subtle stripe detail across the chest ($9.94). This sweater feels great to the touch, it has just the right amount of weight to it, and the fabric feels very cozy. My oldest liked it.
Keeping with the same color theme, for my youngest son I opted for a button down, long sleeve woven shirt from Faded Glory in a festive plaid print ($7.44). My youngest definitely loves a good button up shirt. In his words, he calls them “handsome shirts”. This “handsome shirt” has a great plaid pattern to it that buttons down the center as well as buttons on the cuffs of the sleeves. This shirt is easy to layer underneath for cooler weather or it can be paired with a t-shirt and worn unbuttoned for a more casual look.
When it comes to picture time, I like the way two shirts match but don’t match exactly with one another. By just purchasing new shirts, I can easily match them with existing pants that my sons own to help me stay within my holiday budget. Having everyone in the family wearing something within the same color palette, it adds a little something extra to holiday photos.
