What Polish is on my Nails? Fourth of July Nail Tutorial

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth of July celebration with friends and family this weekend. I couldn’t help but get a bit festive today with my manicure. Like I mentioned in a previous post, I really wanted to rock a nail polish that I received from the POPSUGAR Must-Have Subscription Box. So I put together a quick and simple nail tutorial that one can easily do at home in as little as an hour. That definitely beats trying to book an appointment at a nail salon before a busy holiday weekend.

For this Nail Look, You’ll need:

First of all, I have mentioned before how much I am a fan of gel polishes (especially one’s that don’t require a light to cure). If you have never tried, Revlon’s Colorstay Gel Envy line of polishes you are definitely missing out. This drugstore polish is a good one. It stays chip resistant for several days and I love how fast the formula dries.

To get the this holiday nail look, I simply painted all of my nails except my accent nail with two coats of the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy nail polish in a patriotic blue hue called Wild Card. Then I applied the NCLA glitter polish to my accent nails. I then sealed my color and glitter once dried with the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat.

Glitter Polish Application Tip:

A trick to get a heavy glitter look to a nail using a glitter polish is to dab the polish onto the nail instead of swiping it. This will place bits of glitter from the nail polish brush onto your nail where you want it. Sweeping a glitter polish onto a nail will only leave a small trace of glitter behind which would take several coats to layer up to get the same results one gets if you simply just dab the brush onto your nail.
