Being a Mom is a tough job. A lot of what we do goes unrecognized. When it comes to taking care of others it is also just as important to take care of yourself as well. This can be difficult as a Mom. We are often stressed for time so the thought of going to a spa for pampering and relaxation is not only out of the question but also not a part of the budget.

So, how do you create a spa-like experience at home?

Set the Mood with Candles. There is a reason why the treatment rooms at a spa are often dimly lit as it helps to create a relaxing effect. Create that same type of atmosphere in your bathroom by turning off harsh overhead lighting and using candles instead.

Apply a Mud Mask to Draw Out Impurities. My favorite mask to apply are mud masks because you can really feel them pulling out the impurities from your skin. Apply an even layer of the mask to your face (and neck if you like).

Relax in an Epsom Salt and Essential Oil Bath. With your face mask applied, now it is time to relax in a warm bath while we wait for the mask to dry. Add Epsom salt and your favorite essential oils to your bath for an aromatherapy experience at home.

Cleanse and Exfoliate. By this time your mask should be set and ready to rinse off. After rinsing off your mask, gently exfoliate the skin to slough off any dead skin cells that may be built up on the skin. After exfoliating, cleanse the skin to rinse away any leftover product.

Hydrate both Inside and Out. After pampering your skin, you are going to want to hydrate. Start by drinking lots of water then apply a cream or lotion like Advanced Clinicals to your face, neck, and hands. Advanced Clinicals is an affordable, clinically proven skin care line available in select Walmart stores.

Advanced Clinicals carries a variety of different types of affordable, quality skincare that contain ingredients such as retinol, argan oil, coconut oil and more to help you find the right product to target problem areas or fight against common skin issues. I was recently sent the Advanced Clinicals Collagen Skin Rescue Lotion as well as the Advanced Clinicals Retinol Advanced Firming Cream to add to my beauty routine. If you don’t know where to start, I think one of these two products would be a great way to begin. Each comes in a large spa sized container that is sure to last quite a while. The convenient pump means you don’t have to dip your fingers into the product’s container.

The Advanced Clinicals Collagen Skin Rescue Lotion is a soothing, moisturizing lotion for post-treatments. It offers hydration while also helping to lift and firm the skin for a more even looking skin tone. The Advanced Clinicals Retinol Advanced Firming Cream (only $5.83 for a large 16 oz. spa sized container at Walmart) contains the #1 clinically-proven ingredient Retinol to fight back against fine lines and wrinkles. This renewing and anti-gaining cream can complement the effects of cosmetic procedures as it replenishes moisture and increases cell renewal. Both products contain green tea, aloe vera, and chamomile.

I was pretty amazed at how quickly Advanced Clinicals products absorbs into the skin and that it doesn’t leave a greasy residue. This means it would be a great product to use under makeup. After your spa night at home facial treatment, apply either the Advanced Clinicals Skin Rescue Lotion or Retinol Advanced Firming Cream to the skin then reapply Advanced Clinicals throughout the week after your normal cleansing routine to help nourish and treat the skin.
